  1. Anywhere around the area has its advantages but the best lake in the state for big largemouths is Chickamauga and Watts Bar rates a close second. If you prefer smallmouth and river fishing, the waters east of Knoxville is where to look. Can not go wrong in East TN, just a fantastic part of the country for fishing. The only drawback is lots of boats on any of the the big lakes.
  2. Do you throw the 110 on lighter spinning gear?
  3. The shellcracker is just enough of a crankbait that it wants to dive at any speed higher than a crawl. Thats okay though, because the big girls hate that crawl. It catches fish cranking it down too. Good luck man!
  4. You know me well sir. Does the bait still suspend with these hooks? Gotta have a red treble on the front.
  5. YoZuri Hybrid has quite a bit of memory. When you decide to venture back into fluoro, check out Seaguar Invizx. The best fluoro line I have ever used and consistently highly regarded by BR contributors.
  6. Perfect-just ordered some. Thank you everyone for your comments.
  7. The Daiwa Tatula has been absolutely superb for me. Good luck man!
  8. Yall are correct 100%. The show will go on, just later. New moon is 4/22. Watch for a wave to move up then, provided your water temp gets to the magic number of 60 degrees. Lots of fish still deep too. Good luck man.
  9. Do yall primarily use spinning gear with 110s?
  10. The toy hooks that come on Megabass Vision 110s do not impress me but swapping hooks on jerkbaits can have issues. Any good strong hook I substitute caused the much anticipated Vision 110 Silent to sink. So do the wimpy little stock hooks actually play? Thanks yall.
  11. Maybe a good followup the day after a senko beatdown or 2nd trip down a bank...
  12. Please expound. Which falls faster and application. Thanks!
  13. The ability to learn to me shows intelligence. Not only do bass learn fairly quickly, they are able to genetically transfer their learned knowledge through their DNA so their next generation hatch just as wise as they are. How many baits can we count that fish got wise to? Ask an old dude about the first years of the buzzbait, the rattle trap, the chatterbait...I sure dont want them to be any smarter!
  14. For the purposes of wacky rigging, are there times that a trick worm, or mag trick worm outshine a senko? Why throw one over the other? Thanks yall.
  15. I like! Want to sell some?
  16. Hey 45- I dont recognize that fluke. Do you pour those?
  17. I have those same baits tied on for targeting Tennessee spawners. I would add a bluegill colored prop bait or frog. Hope you catch em!
  18. Yes, and what is the water clarity? I am with BlueBasser-green pumpkin and then various green pumpkin flakes, blue craw.
  19. I try to use scents as often as I can. Anything that will possibly trigger a strike or keep a fish from spitting my bait out deserves a place in my boat. Plus its not like its particularly expensive, right?
  20. Can you use an ML rod for wacky rigging? Yes but a Medium power rod seems like it has the proper amount of spine. Finesse is not a bad word, rather a necessity to getting some things done!
  21. Condolences on the loss of the sticks Mike. Congrats on the new stick upgrades Mike!
  22. Gotta think about the reality of bringing people together from all over the country right now. Seems to be a dodgy prospect for all involved. Better to be safe and reschedule for later.
  23. Walking baits 2 colors- bone and chrome. Add to the list a pair of prop baits, 2 different colored bluegills. Nothing like a big angry topwater bite!
  24. Ebay is good for buying big swimbaits. I am also a fan of Savage Gear. They make both top hook and line through.
  25. After a few decent years of experimenting with big swimbaits, a thought struck me: what are my strengths? Why not just upsize those techniques? Now I am super confident, having fun, and showing the fish baits they have never seen. Boom. Best of luck man!
