  1. Awesome. Sold me enough. Now just to find one with reasonable shipping.
  2. I'm currently on the hunt for a good telescoping rod that I can bring on hikes. Most responses from people I see say go the multi sectional route but I'm specifically looking for telescoping because of the quick set up. This will be used for when we stop for 20-30 minutes along streams. The current one I seem to see that people like is the Daiwa BBB. JDM though so the price is steep. Anyone have any other rod suggestions I should check out? Thanks in advance
  3. Will check it out thanks.
  4. Yes
  5. In LA for a couple more days. Looking to get some tackle and ship it east. Can anyone recommend a shop to check out? Big bonus if have jdm or a large selection of swim baits. Thanks in advance.
  6. Compared to the 120 does the 168 have better action? 120 wasn't terrible in any way but I'm not all that impressed with the control of the glide. Seems almost to easily interrupted. Though very well could just be the heavy rod and 50 lb braid isnt what it wants... Still looking for a good glide bait. Everyone seems to be talking about the 168 though so I'm curious if I should give it a try.
  7. $71?!?!?! I might just have to jump in that backorder line. Thanks for letting me know.
  8. Figured i'd give an update. After about a month (12+) days on water I'm in love with this reel... Took a little more breaking in than usual but i am shocked how smooth this reel is now that it has. Im serious. my goodness. Using 15 lb Daiwa Jx8 braid the enjoyment of the smoothness will arguably be better than your wedding night's bedroom festives. and even more impressive.... the weight.. have a 3000 size on a 7' St. Croix Premier and ooooooooof. I mean it when i say everytime i pick it up im still surprised by how light this thing is. My arm getting tired really isn't even a thing when using this rod. And that drag..... ... .... i find myself tugging on the line for no reason often just to feel that butter. Yea i'm in love. If your in need of a new spinning reel just go and get one and see what i'm talking about. I'm sure ill be getting another one soon enough. Thanks for all the help guys.
  9. Ended up finding a Tatula 7'4 frog for $120 on amazon so ordered it. Hopefully price isnt too good to be true. Also ended up going with a Shimano Curado 200k. Thought process is I could always move over the curado and get a tatula 150 when deals start coming around. Also i've wanted to see what all the curado hype was about. Will let you guys know how i feel about them after a month or two of use.
  10. Looks like exactly what i want except for the price is a bit more than id like... looking into Daiwa 7'4 frog rod a bit more, I think ill give it a go. Foam sections look long enough to be comfortable. Anybody used? I see some tip breaking problems with lighter models... any problems with the heavy frog model? Also.. You guys have any experience with the Daiwa Tatula 150? Looking at that or Shimano Curado 200k. Leaning towards Tatula since its a tatula rod and all and i do love my Tatula LT. That being said also curious to test more thats out there and have always heard great things about the curado.
  11. Seems interesting. Loving my Tatula LT spinning reel which might be whats grabbing my attention a bit more. Ill keep it on my list and do a bit of research. Will say though, and while it isnt nearly the most important factor, I typically prefer the feel of full length handle. Also usually cork but have felt a few foam handles i like. I have large hands (palms in particular) and rarely like how the narrow rod section fits in my hand.
  12. was considering a fury but heard about some tip breaking issues on the lighter models. Though i guess mag heavy should have less of that problem... Still when i say up to 2 ounces i mean ill be really throwing some 1.75 oz lures on this rod. 735 is rated at 1.5 oz, had any problems throwing slightly over it?
  13. after getting an infected tick bite started growing the second ring (no lyme im good!) ive begun always wearing pants, long socks, all that when fishing. Now that its warm id recommend checking out the northface hiking AND workout pants. have some very comfortable, very lightweight pants that feels... well... d**n near naked to be honest. Been wearing them as often as their clean for the last 3 years and their holding up well. Got a couple more pairs finally about a month ago.
  14. Been looking to add a sub 2 oz swimbait rod to the setup. And since i prefer not to take out more than 2 rods at a time, figure i should make it work as my flipping rod as well. What im currently thinking is a 7'6" Dobyns Sierra H/F with a Shimano Curado 200k. Thoughts on that setup? also for the Curado if anyone has experience/thoughts on going with the 7.4:1 or the 8.5:1 tips would be appreciated. And as always if you have something else you think would do just as well ill take the advice. Price wise I'd like to keep the combo around or under $350 though obviously less is all good by me. Thanks in advance
  15. Literally was watching a tackle advisor video as i got the alert that you said that. Never hit send on this though. Talking about the new ocean bg? sounds like a bit of overkill for what im fishing. May pick up before next inshore trip. I found a new in box Tatula LT 3000 for $150 so decided to just go for it. Will share my thoughts on it after ive used it for a couple months.
