  1. This is excellent advice and I will take it next time I am on a boat.
  2. I called Dobyns and the guy who I spoke to said that I should go with the 703, but just about everyone else I've talked to has suggested the 702. Decisions decisions...
  3. Hey guys, I've decided for my next spinning rod I'll be getting a Dobyns Fury, I just cant decide which one. I mainly throw Senkos, weightless and wacky, ned rigs, and drop shots. Which one would you pick and why? Will most likely pair with a daiwa bg or fuego 2500.
  4. Best budget baitcaster is a Daiwa fuego CT, you can find for below $60 on Ebay and Amazon. Shimano Slx is also really nice in that price range but it will cost you a bit more.
  5. Hey guys, I was thinking for my next spinning rod I should get either a Dobyns Fury 702 or a Shimano Slx medium light. I have a fury and I really like it but after hearing the guys say they prefer the slx I'm in two minds. I'll put on either a Daiwa Fuego LT 2500 or a Daiwa BG 2500, cant decide between the two reels either, but I'm kinda leaning over to the BG. Any advice is greatly appreciated!
  6. That's good news, today was payday....
  7. I'm the same, cast with right hand and reel with right hand, I'm learning to cast left hand and I've gotten pretty good at it but I can't pitch for the life of me left handed.
  8. It's right next to the Ronald Reagan airport.
  9. Hey guys, I was looking at winter spots for bank fishing and it looks like 4 mile run is pretty popular in the winter. Do any of you guys fish this spot with success? Any advice or tricks for fishing this spot?
  10. I wear crocs 95% of the time. What I like about them is that I can go into the water and not worry about drying them or them smelling the next day.
  11. In my experience the difference between a Black max and any of the other reels mentioned is giant. All these reels can also handle lighter baits better than a blackmax. They also all have aluminum frames, except the Casitas. The CT type R isn't that much bigger than any of the other reels and would be my first choice. I'd rather spend the extra $30 or $40 and get a great reel where I know im getting my moneys worth.
  12. Great job! Stick with it!
  13. The only st croix and dobyns I've been able to compare are the Furies to the Mojo Bass, the mojo bass is definetly a lot stiffer and has a faster action. Both are quality rods and you cant go wrong with either. In the end I think id still go with the Dobyns just because I prefer their actions and balance.
  14. I've never tried a pflueger caster but I love my spinner!
  15. This would be my choice too, but I'd also add in a Tatula ct type r. Got mine for $100 and it's an awesome workhorse!
  16. I've never paid full retail for any of my gear. Ive gotten all of my stuff at least 40-50% off. Since I am 14 and dont pay taxes or support a family all the money i earn that doesnt go in the bank is spent on fishing.
  17. Now that is a difficult trick to learn!
  18. Personally I like to save up for as long as I need to and buy exactly what I want.
  19. You will be much better off getting a Daiwa Fuego CT or Shimano Slx. For a rod a would recommend a Dibyns Fury 734. The Fuego is an amazing reel and can be had for less than $60 on eBay and Amazon.
  20. What's your budget?
  21. That looks awesome!
