  1. If my sun glasses are touching it they will fog up. I keep it on my nose but away from my shades. The worst time for it fogging up is in the winter time for me.
  2. Wait so your talking about a face shield like a hoo rag or something?
  3. Didn't somebody catch two 11s and a 17 over in Cali? Or was it a different size, I'm not sure. I think he even made the Bass master magazine.
  4. If I'm trying to gain some confidence in something and I know the conditions are right I'll throw that one bait that I'm not used to throwing in those conditions. I can only make adjustments to them and can change colors but I have to fish with it and make the fish bite. I threw a big swim bait the other day and finally before dark, I caught one pushing 8 pounds. It felt so rewarding. Does anybody else re tie after a fish catch just so you don't have a chance of a break off of an absolute monster?
  5. Great job man, good healthy fish. Hope you catch many more of those. Judging by the size of your hand and the fishes head, I would rate that fish maybe 5 maybe. That guys pic was taken so far back that his whole body was in the pic and there was the ground and the sky. Your pic stops at your thighs and I would guess that the person taking the pic is about a yard at the most from you. Just remember you can make a pounder look huge if you wanted to. You could also make a ten look tiny depending on the angle and the distance.
  6. Thanks, I will definitely have to pick up a few.
  7. Has anybody picked up a toad runner made by Booyah? I almost bought one but I wanted to know if anybody has tried it and wanted some opinions. It seems like a buzz bait or whopper plopper mixed with a frog, does it have a a better sound than the two? Thanks
  8. Agreed, same way with a chatter bait spinner bait situation. I've been catching most of my fish with t rigs this time of year for some reason.
  9. Jigs catch bigger fish, they are more compact. T rig, I go with it when they want something a little easier to eat or I want to catch numbers. Don't get me wrong, they both catch big fish but most of the time that's your big fish catcher is a jig. I caught my pb last year on a 3/8 ounce football jig. I would say give them both a good try and you will catch fish with both. There are times when one will do better than the other depending on the conditions. Good luck bro
  10. I've seen a Blue heron stab a 3+ right beside me while I was fishing a tournament. How do they eat that big of a fish and why? I thought they would go for things like small gills and shad of something else not a good keeper. The pic looks like something cut into it, so it must be sharp for whatever was using it, do you think there is a possibility it got hit by a trolling or outboard motor?
  11. A big ole alligator gar may be the prob.
  12. Lol. Last time I answered my phone, I was talking to my buddy and I got a bite, dropped the phone on the deck ,set the hook and landed a 7 pounder. So now I don't ever use my phone on the boat.
  13. Berkley or Seaguar are my fav lines. Sweet hat though. Also if I buy a rod and reel combo and it comes with line on it, I automatically rip it off and put one of the two depending on the situation. Normally you can break the line that is the stock line for the combo. That's my opinion, if you want to lose fish because of cheap line that came with it then ok. Sometimes you gotta spend a little money to make money.
  14. Dip it in BBQ for the bleeding shad look and dip it in ranch for the regular shad imitation.?
  15. I second that, I catch a lot good bass outta lay downs. That's one of my favorite ways of fishing is to flip or pitch to lay downs. I would think that it is their ambush area also. The reason they don't bite the first few times is because they don't like the angle, gotta make it look natural. That's the reason you get reaction bites, your in the strike zone. Their instinct is to ambush and most of the time when they hit your lure it's outta instinct hitting it from their ambush area.
  16. Probably gonna have to be the Twizzlers and if they don't like that presentation, I'll go with more of a flashy style and pull out the sour gummy worms. I'll drop shot for those hard to get fish, texas rig that gummy worm for laydowns. C rig that twizzler for those main lake points. Plus I can snack on a few while fishing.?
  17. When I fished North Alabama, the fish were just getting in the backs of the creeks. I was catching my fish on a t rigged watermelon lizard, a t rigged electric blue zoom curly tail and slow rolling a spinner bait through the lay downs.. We could catch them out on the points coming into the pocket but they just weren't any size. These lay downs we were targeting weren't in more than 6 feet. We caught a good limit off of a submerged tree on our graphs in about 5.5 feet off of a rock wall, so it was a steep bank with some trees underwater and there were fish in the backs of the creek that helped us cull some fish too. Good luck bro, hope you jack them up when you figure out where they are. Btw that was 3 weeks ago.
  18. Sometimes when you are pitching to the lay down, when that bass sees the bait entering the lay down multiple times, it starts to get worked up and will swallow it. I just break down the tree and flip in almost every part of it, or the "high percentage" areas.
  19. You live in Texas bro, I'f kill to live in Texas.
  20. Them thangs are sexy!?
  21. That does sound very interesting. Hope your wife gets to feeling better. Yay just waht we need to come to the south east.
  22. Go a lighter weight, and use a flat top head. They make some shakey heads that are flat, they are designed for keeping the bait vertical in the water column. That flat head being light skips right over it. Also the lighter the weight the better the action is on the fall and it stays in the strike zone longer. Good luck bro.
  23. Nice fish. Thats a fish I will probably never catch.
  24. Yes, they are everywhere and they eat a lot of the bait fish. It's not a very well balance place. It's like that every where down here though. They can get really big too and eat the smaller bass. We have the world record crappie right now at 5 pounds and 3 ounces.
