  1. I've been actually using the 3" White Grub by Yum and it's Awesome! Really Good for muti-species too ?
  2. I can't tell if this is a joke or it's something ppl actually do that can catch fish?.... ?
  3. Wha... are you serious?? Is Taxes rigging anything and everything like the thing now???
  4. Nah, just in general throughout the year baits. I just like finesse type tactic fishing more then power fishing. I would of included any type of squarbill cranks but I could only choose 3 so ?
  5. Oh yeah I almost forgot about the Mushroom Jig By Z-Man with a Finesse TRD. Those are great ? Never tried this... I am definitely gonna have to try this out next time I go out! ?
  6. Hahahahaha, Whopper Ploppers are great but you can't expect it to be a year round bait and catch bass in the winter when they are lethargic and in the deepest part of the water.?
  7. If I only had the option to take 3 baits for bass fising the 1st, sorry to break it to you guys but it would have to be any type of "stick" bait. This is a obvious because you can rig it in so many different types of profile & presentation either it be Wacky, Mojo, Shaky, Drop shot, Carolina, Taxes Rig, etc... I usually use the "Yum Dinger 5" Color: Green Pumpkin and or Black & Blue flake with a 3/0 or 4/0 EWG offset worm hook either weightless or bullet weighted with a Texas or Wacky Rig. (Why because it is my favorite finnese style rig either in open water or in thick cover. It Works like a charm, and it is my go to bait when everything fails). 2nd, would be a Suspending Jerk Bait. My favorite is the "Rapala X Rap XR12 4 3/4", 3/4oz." Color: Clown. (Why because of the versatility of the lure, the ability to cast far and it having a distinct Action that attracts bass; it suspends to depth of 4~8ft and you can jerk it, pause it, reel it slow or fast. And the color I chose seem to attract bass pretty well in both Clear and Dirty waters). 3rd, Last but not least I had to give it to the Finesse or Flipping Jig. I like to use a Jig and Craw method. Specifically the "Strike King Bitsy Bug or Flipping Jig 1/4oz. with a Strike King RageTail Craw" as a trailer. Color: of course black & blue and or Green pumpkin? (Why because I can drag it, bounce it off the bottom between rocks and I can throw it in the thickest covers). Like everyone I catch the biggest bass when it comes to using jigs and the reaction of hooking a bass is quite satisfying ? What are your Top 3 favorite baits and why would you recommend them??
  8. Alright, so where I am from in Kansas, Milford lake right off the dam when the spillway is open and the current is crazy, the locals use a big topwater either a walk or popper lure (Ex: “Rebel Pop-R Magnum” or “Heddon Super Spook”) on the main line and remove the end tribble hook and attach about 1 to 2ft of leader 6~8lb test line with a White Crappie Jig 1/16oz (“marabou”) and reel it back by jerking in different cadence. I see people catching Stripers/Wipers all the time!!! ????? And they seemed to not be able to resist the dang thing...This prevents you from losing your expensive top water bait and you usually just lose the jig with the leader if you get snagged. 9 times out 10 when you do catch a fish it’s on the jig. Only bad part is those fish can make the hook weak by bending it out when they fight like crazy? So I would replace the jig after several use. I’m more of largemouth/ smallies type guy and fish more down the stream where the water is more calm. Don’t tell anybody I told you! The secret is revealed online now! Gotta share the Love of secret fishing techniques sooner or later! “Sharing is caring” ? Other then that you will usualy see people trying to catch fish with swim Baits or “flukes”.... But that method doesn’t work not nearly as good as the ones who know how to fish there... Has anybody done or tried this technique????
  9. Thanks my man, have to try out those areas for sure this weekend ? Hopefully no more cold fronts???
  10. I am currently in school for 3 months and was wondering if anybody on post/base or near Petersburg/Colonial Heights area was wanting to go fishing after work or on the weekends. I have my own fishing gear but don’t have any means of transportation and was wondering if anybody wanted to have a partner to go fishing with to enjoy and kill time while here. Any great fishing spots around here??? Love Fishing and I usually fish ALL day? until pretty much no sunlight ?
