  1. Columbia is good stuff. I would also recommend bibs rather than pants. When you're sitting in the boat some rain always seems to find a way down the crack. Literally. I picked up a pair of bass pro bibs for like $50 or $60 as a back up. Very pleased. Though they don't have several cargo pockets.
  2. It's a leaseback. All B.P. is doing is freeing up cash. The stores aren't changing or closing. Reporting isnt what it used to be.
  3. Can someone inform me on the use of cull markers? Is there a system to know which fish is the smallest and next to go?
  4. only 9 feet of depth in a Wisconsin pond? Could be from ice
  5. I don't eat bass. Only Walleye Northern Pike and Perch. Well, Crappie and Bluegill too!
  6. Don't know if your looking for inland lakes or what but this might help https://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/
  7. Took me a while to find it. Look for the 5:48 spot near the end. Brian Latimer seemed to handle it as best could be expected. The strongest thing he said to the teens was, "not cool guys"
  8. I try to fish the lightest jig possible. Hoping that the heavier weight doesn't impart un-natural action.
  9. I use sat photos for searching shore structure. I look for westward facing sandy shores. Helps to know where the rock / sand transitions are.
  10. I'd like to say I'd report him but I don't know... I'd suggest that you have a conversation with a game warden and explain all of it. That you work with him etc. The warden is going to do surveillance, watch him catching and keeping sun fish and then later bass fishing. Maybe someone reported him, maybe someone didn't. I might also suggest giving your HR person at work a heads up. I LOL when I went back and read that he follows the 25 possession limit.
  11. One way a journeyman mold maker would repair it is with an insert. Drill a hole in the area of error and insert an aluminum rod same size or a bit smaller. i.e. drill a 15/64 hole and use a 1/4 aluminum rod. Heat the mold a bit and freeze the rod. It will slide in due to expansion / contraction. Peen the insert and it will stay in there no problem. The best fix would of course be to have it tig welded.
  12. I don't know if allowed on this board, there is a musky lure making message board called basement baits http://muskie.outdoorsfirst.com/board/forums/forum-view.asp?fid=25 They have a lot of great insight on tackle making.
  13. We do this a lot. Mostly fishing shallow when minnows spawn. Crawdads are in the shallows at the same time. black 1/8 oz. jig with 3" or 4" orange tail square bill crank bait in orange & black color any crank bait in orange / black / red
  14. Fish Minnesota and Ontario for smallmouth. What is the advantage of a Carolina rig vs. a Texas rig? When would one be used over the other? With a Texas rig weight close to the hook what would the advantage be over a simple jig? Thanks
