  1. I bought a revo stx and its the best garcia reel yet. I have a few older round reels, a shimano citica, and a pfleuger president and supreme and i like the revo the best by A LONG SHOT.
  2. ha yeah my grandfather makes jokes about bill dance using scuba divers on his show because most of his lures like the dancin' eel were kinda dumb
  3. Mine was caught in Marion, Arkansas. About 15 miles from Memphis
  4. Technically my biggest is 8.75 lbs. I caught a bass the same day i believe was much bigger, but i was being really really dumb and let it jump back into the water out of the boat......but can't complain with an 8.75 lbs. bass ;D
  5. i love booyah buzzbaits because of the extra noise. I purchased buzzbaits from BPS in the cheap looking packages that come like 5 on one cardboard back thing and they have a curved wire to the blade, i can't remember what they are called but i've caught three 8 lbs.+ bass on them.
  6. I have been seeing the HUGE 12" buzz bait by booyah , mostly advertised by Bill Dance. Has anyone tried this? I don't see how someone could case it into tight places and keeps it running strait..
  7. I've heard that u can rig up a tube without a weight and put an earplug in it and fish it like a wounded shad or jerk bait.
  8. I was thinking today about all the types of cover bass hide under around here in eastern arkansas. My favorites are lilly pads, under brush piles or fallin trees and around cypres knobs. I was wanderin what are some of your favorite types around here or even anywere in the country.
  9. I suggest reading an article. There are so many types and styles of cranks and spinnerbaits used for so many different situations. Some are used just under the surface, such as double willow, or slow rollers on the bottom and so many different styles and dive depths of crank baits.
  10. Oh yeah, its more accurate too in my opinion.
  11. out of my 5 rods, 3 are 5' 6". Alot has to do with preference. I used to fish from a smaller boat, so a short rod was easier and compact. I like using this short mh to h action rod to fish with buzzbaits and spinnerbaits. With this short rod you can't cast as far, but you can get under heavy cover such as trees fallin in the lake or syprus trees much easier. A longer rod is used usually for worms, but again it has alot to do with preference. Some people may disagree
  12. I'm thinking about gettin a new reel under $250. I have had Garcia's mess up but it was only the pall and worm gear and the revo stx has a stronger worm gear, but i love shimano. Any ideas?
  13. How would you reccomend fishing the booyah boogie bait or any chatterbait? i've heard many methods, but under what conditions and cercomstanses would you guys use them??
  14. I am a stren man myself, but a buddy of mine bought that new suffix line. Is this line all its cracked up to be? Could it be anybetter compared to stren or trilene or somthing like that?
  15. The largest bass i've caught have all been during spawn/pre-spawn periods. If you can get a good handle on the spawn patterns of the fish, you will have LOADS of fun. It is well worth the time of trial and error, or maybe if you can fishing a certain lake each day of different weather, although i know some have jobs, I'm fortunate because i'm still in highschool!
  16. I like to use trailors, such as grubs or split tails on the back of all my buzzbaits. I really like white the best, it seems to work well in my conditions.
  17. You are 100% correct with that one, as well as the old worm after the buzz bait trick. A good trick is to look at other stuff while reeling in ur buzzbait, such as upcoming cover to cast to. when a fish hits it, you will know when he pulls the bait. I will soon come second nature to you.
  18. During early morning or late evening fishing, to me nothing beats a buzz bait. I find they catch many fish and nothing is as awesome as a bass exploding on one of these babies. I find the one's at bass pro with the curved wire works better than the rest, but i may be bias because i caught my largest bass on it.
  19. I couldn't agree more that yum outpreforms in my experience with the baits. I can't count how many times i've had a yum bait and my partner has somthing else and i outfish them every time. My grandfather, who is an excelent fishermen and has won a few ametuer tournaments, didn't believe it until we tried a "contest". He now too is a believer.
  20. I LOVE YUM SOFTBAITS!!! I always fish with another person in my boat and secretly used yum while they use another soft bait. Often the exact color and size, i seemed to catch atleast twice as many fish as the other guy, and often bigger. I finally had to tell them my secret. I especially love the YUM Big Claw or Ribon tail worm.
  21. i don't have much experience fishing large acre lakes such as bull shoals or table rock, but during the spawn season of medium to small acre lakes i've found most bass to spawn anywere from 4' deep up to as shallow as almost seeing their top fin out of the water. I caught my biggest largemouth (8 lbs) in about 1 foot of water on a buzz bait.
  22. I miss the YUM big claw craw dad, i believe it got replaced with the craw papi this year. They were around last year but i can't even find them on the Bass Pro websight this year, only found them in one locally owned fishing store. I caught many fish on it when nothing else worked.
