  1. Hello guys, I'm going to focus on frogging, pitching and flipping this year and am new to baitcasting. I wanted to know if a 6:6:1 (26 ipt) or 7:3:1 (31ipt) would be best for these applications. Thanks, Sean
  2. Ok is the wire preferred over hand tied thread? I'm just trying to gather and incorporate information so I'm capable of making quality lures. Thank you for your time
  3. Hello everyone, i have been using spinning gear for about 10 years. Consequently, my knowledge of jigs isn't up to par. My objective is to make quality arkys. I was going to start with Gamakatsu hooks and hand tie silicone skirts. I'm using 2 base color models with matching jig head paint and brush guards. Does the avid jig user prefer the skirt to be hand tied? I basically want to know what you think makes a top shelf jig and am I on the right track. I am really greatful to be a part of such a vast knowledge base of bass fishing. Thanks
  4. Ok so just to clarify a 6:6:1 is fast enough for frogging and flipping? It's the main reason I got the rod I did. Thanks for responding.
  5. Thanks for the input everyone.?
  6. Ok thanks I'm getting my first bait caster this year and just wanted to make sure I get the right one for what I'm looking to do.
  7. Hey guys, I just got an Abu Garcia vendetta. 7'3 MHF rod and plan on using it for frogging, pitching, flipping, jigs and worms. In your opinion can I use a 6:6:1 reel for these purposes or should I go to a faster gear ratio? Thanks
  8. Hello, I am going to start making my own jigs and only have enough money to make one type. I want to know if you could use only one type of jig for catching largemouth, which would you suggest? Thank you for your input.
