  1. Its the Bradford Pears that I be getting confused with the Dogwoods @Sam
  2. Matt what's going on brother, hope all is well! I hope we could link up at some point this year.
  3. You can always try Elko Lake Park or down at Wellesley Lake.
  4. Where do bass usually have beds at in small Golf Course ponds with little to no structure?
  5. Tokyo Rig is something I have been waiting to experiment with, caught 1 nice bass with it in fall of 2020.
  6. I have a ton of pictures from 2020 to upload.....mainly on the Jackhammer Chatterbait!!!
  7. @Sam Do you think we will have an early Bass Spawn this year?
  8. I know I'm about a year late, but welcome to the forum @RdmaoRVA , I am a bank beater as well and these guys on this platform has always giving me some good advice. Byrd Park lakes are very tricky, they are heavily pressured and constant disturbances from the geese, dog walkers etc. But try to hit Fountain Lake during the Spawn and Spring. It would be your best shot of catching 5+ pound bass relatively easy cause the algae and slime hasn't began to take over and the bass are literally next to the walls guarding beds. And yes, the Chatterbait is my new favorite lure, lol.
  9. Hey @Sam ......I am still around buddy!!!
  10. Hey @Sam maybe we can finally get a chance to fish here soon. This weather is all over the place and so is the spawning bass.
  11. Went to private pond in Saluda yesterday, caught 12 bass all buck bass though under 2 pounds. Did catch 3 rainbow trout before the water warms up too much and they die out. My buddy's father stock his pond every winter.
  12. @Sam I will be hitting up some ponds tomorrow morning, I haven't seen any on beds as of yet, but that was at the beginning of the week. If you aren't bed fishing, what is your go-to technique this time of year?
  13. Definitely go for it! I started off with the BHite Delight color at $20 with green pumpkin razor shad trailer and have yet to change it. But I did find them online for $12.79 and bout 3 more. Bluegill, White, Black & Blue! Here in Richmond and been catching nothing but big bass over 4 and 5 pounds!
  14. I live in Central Virginia by way of Richmond. I do nothing but fish ponds and I'm a true Power Fisherman, trying to work on my finesse game but I stick to what I know. So I wait for a spike in weather and pressure to head to the ponds. I purchased the JackHammer Chatterbait 2 months ago and that's all I've been tossing. I start of in the little cove on a wind-blown bank and they have straight crushed this bait. Multiple 4lb and 5lb bass.
  15. I've been around @Sam actually been doing pretty well winter fishing for bass....I choose my battles wisely and go when there is a warm temperature increase and they have been smoking the Jack Hammer chatterbait the last 2 months.
