  1. I don't know about other states, but here (at least on Minnetonka), there's DNR Officers at all the major launch points, checking the boats, trailers, live-wells, etc for compliance with the regs. Sunrise to sunset, there's someone there making sure people follow the law.
  2. We can't even do that in MN - all unused live bait MUST be put in the trash unless you're taking it home. Then Minnows must have the water in the bucket replaced by bottled water.
  3. I always try to get within 25 yds of where I'm casting to...so 25 yds max.
  4. Here you go - image from Feb 8, 1998 (I have G-Earth Pro on my desktop)
  5. Wow - I even put the Lat/Long into I-Boating and it showed a blank space. Guess they're still 'surveying'.
  6. My Medium-Light rig is my Finesse rig - Ned, Drop-Shot, Split-shot, etc. Anything that's within the rod's specs can be tossed. Since my rod is rated to 5/8 oz lures, I could even toss 3/8 spinnerbaits with a trailer if I wanted to...though that's usually on my Medium rig.
  7. Check I-Boating's maps - I've yet to find one that isn't in there...even one's that Navonics ignores I-Boating has. http://fishing-app.gpsnauticalcharts.com/i-boating-fishing-web-app/fishing-marine-charts-navigation.html#3.82/39.82/-95.96
  8. Glenn, it's nice that you supply these maps for free. I only have one exception to them - no launch point locations. Great that the topo is there - but having to go to a different app to find where to launch makes it a bit of a pain. I-Boating's app shows launch points within...no need to look someplace else for them.
  9. I-Boating's web app has topo maps of just about every body of water in the country. Zoom in to your area and find your lake. http://fishing-app.gpsnauticalcharts.com/i-boating-fishing-web-app/fishing-marine-charts-navigation.html#3.82/39.82/-95.96
  10. And now watch the ice disappear Friday Partly sunny, with a high near 61. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Friday Night A 40 percent chance of showers after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 46. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Saturday A 40 percent chance of showers, mainly before 8am. Partly sunny, with a high near 64. South wind around 10 mph. Saturday Night A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 50. South southeast wind around 10 mph. Sunday A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 66. South southeast wind around 10 mph. Sunday Night A 40 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 44. West northwest wind around 10 mph. Monday A 20 percent chance of showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 62. West northwest wind around 10 mph.
  11. This has always been my best producer Original Rapala Floater - size 11 in Silver
  12. Things have been arranged - I'll see you there.
  13. (facepalm) There's this sheet that comes with reels called 'Instructions'...maybe they need to learn to read.
  14. Yes, that's me...and you're obviously not a Trekkie.
  15. You sure? According to the schematic, it DOES have centrifugal brakes. http://s7d5.scene7.com/is/content/purefishing/ed-TEMPLARLPpdf Far as what I have - the list is in my signature.
  16. If I paid that much for a rod, I'd want the best people to handle any repairs. That means shipping it back to St. Croix and letting them do it. The fees are minuscule compared to what might happen if you take the 'cheap' route and end up having to replace it.
  17. Wife and I both on fixed income, house is barely 'above water' from the crash 10 years ago, limited savings that keeps getting eaten up by maintenance work on the house and truck. Nope, no way we could afford to move even across town much less to a different area of the country.
  18. Remove the bolded item and you got me to a 'T'.
  19. For bluegill or any panfish I'd recommend a Light or Ultra-Light rod with a 500 or 1000 size spinning reel loaded with 4# test line. My panfish/trout rig is a President 25 on a 6'6" Diawa Spinmatic Ultra-Light rod with 4# Berkley Trilene XL. I don't go after catfish, so can't help you there.
  20. That's how I'd route it. Course with my old runabout I didn't have to worry about that as the battery/gas compartment was open.
  21. It's not for the exhaust because outboards directly exhaust from the motor. It's for preventing gas-fume buildup in the enclosed space. If that ducting wasn't there and gas fumes collected...one spark from the battery and BOOM.
  22. (lying varmint)
  23. Darn it all...I'm 100 sq-ft over the limit. Guess I'll have to downsize. (No, I'm not joking...my house is 850 finished sq-ft)
