  1. Should have gone with 'Tidal Waves' - then the bass can't see you sneaking up on them as it'd blend with the water.
  2. I've got a Sun Dolphin Scout SS - it's a 14' canoe with 3 seats. It weighs 84 lbs, so can be wrangled by one person, but the big part is that it has a load capacity of over 700 lbs...plenty for 2 adults, 1 kid and gear - though it might be a bit cramped for space. It's also sold as the Field and Stream Scout at either F&S stores or Dick's - made by KL Outdoor (KL Industries), Sun Dolphin is their home brand.
  3. Plano Prolatch 3600 size - various styles. Hard tackle goes in a Cabela's Advanced Angler bag (6 boxes), soft baits go into a Plano Weekender (4 boxes)
  4. You'd think so - but some agents really couldn't give a rip. Now in some states, the seller has to fix all items marked in the inspection before the sale can go through - it's like that here in MN. Check with your state regs to see if that's true there. If it isn't - it might not be ethical for the agent to sell...but it's legal. Another way the realtor can get out of it is if they sell it 'As Is'...then the buyer is responsible for the maintenance costs. <- Dad was a home inspector before he retired...I've heard the horror stories.
  5. I'd spend a few more bucks and get a Cabela's Advanced Angler II Bag - the Magnum size holds 8-3700 size boxes in the main compartment, and the front and side pockets hold a 3600 size each - so that's 4-3600 boxes. I have the Advanced Angler large size (6-3600s in the main and one more in the front pocket) and it seems very durable. https://www.cabelas.com/product/fishing/tackle-storage/tackle-bags/pc/104793480/c/104777280/sc/104619780/cabelas-advanced-angler-ii-bags/2913990.uts?slotId=1
  6. Unfortunately, like in MN it's illegal to transport live fish from one water to another unless you get a permit. From the Illinois Fishing Regulations Handbook - https://www.ifishillinois.org/regulations/2019FishingGuide.pdf "It shall be unlawful to: 1) import or move live aquatic life without securing permission from the Department"
  7. That's it...I'm old even though my mom says I can't be. Turn 60 before the year is out.
  8. I don't cinch it down until everything is in place...loop over the hook/lure. Then wet it and slowly tighten it. If it's mono or FC, if you don't lubricate it (spit works best) then the line will heat up during the tightening and weaken the knot. I also don't cinch it hard, just enough to tighten the knot.
  9. Even the 'little' anchors haul up junk. I've got a 1.5 lb, 4-fluke, collapsible anchor for the canoe. Have it on a length of 550 paracord. Sometimes I haul up a mess of weeds with it.
  10. Maybe a couple lipless cranks - one in a medium-natural color (bluegill, perch, baby bass - base it on what forage is available in the lake), and one in a bright color.
  11. Did he lose the seats or do you have them inside the truck?
  12. Hull ID numbers have to follow a certain format - reading the Pond Prowler's number is the same as the Sportsman...or my Scout SS (also a Sun Dolphin) The month-year of my Scout is E717 - so May 2017 was the production date and it's a 2017 model.
  13. #3 IS 1/4 oz - here's the size/weight charts from Mepps Aguila Sz Weight 0 - 1/12 1 - 1/8 2 - 1/6 3 - 1/4 4 - 1/3 5 - 1/2 Comet Mino Sz Length Weight 0 - 1.25" 1/9 1 - 1.875" 1/6 2 - 2.5" 1/4 3 - 2.5" 5/16 4 - 3" 7/16 5 - 3" 1/2 I've always found that my Mepps lasted longer than the Roostertails I'd purchased...now I go with nothing but Mepps.
  14. As long as the pond doesn't suffer oxygen deprivation in the winter and there's forage (Bass?) for it, then it should survive just fine. Just don't expect it to reach 'trophy' size - it'll be limited to available forage and room.
  15. Nope - putting a label on a hardcopy of the contour map, then a notation in a notebook of all the info. I only have a 2gb data plan on my phone, so I'm very conservative in it's use.
  16. Tampering with Evidence can be a state or federal felony with prison time up to 20 years. My opinion - throw the book at this whacko.
  17. UL rig with 4# line is more than sufficient for panfish. I've even caught some 2#-3# bass on my old UL - Pflueger 640 on a 5' Ugly Stick.
  18. I would go a little more and get a Diawa Spinmatic-D. Comes in lengths from 4' to 8' in 6" increments, runs about $40 on Amazon. I have a 6'6" paired with my President 25 and it's an awesome UL rig.
  19. My main jerkbait reel is the President BC - loaded with 20# Power Pro...no leader. Haven't had an issue casting at all.
  20. TW has a VERY limited selection of all sizes. I also checked FishUSA and they have even less.
  21. Descendants of transplants. Their original native range was southern Canada to North Carolina, west to Iowa. They've been introduced as far west as Washington and Oregon and some southern states as well as Europe In Europe, they're considered an 'invasive species'...much like Asian Carp here.
  22. Sunfish species - found north of the Mason-Dixon mainly...rarely south of it
  23. Ya, but I'm a cheap bugger. Had the thermometer sitting around, 1/4 oz casting weight from my box and a length of 50# braid left over from spooling my Fuego. No money spent.
  24. (sighs) Went to Dutch - and it was already full...4 supposed parking slots for trailers and there were 6 there. So toddled up to Little Long and went out. Tried everything, Spinner, Chatter, Buzz, variety of cranks and jerks, T-Rigs, Wacky, drop-shot NOTHING - I got skunked big time. Next trip? Dunno when - it's up in the air right now.
  25. VMC or Gamakatsu hooks - worth the money. Don't need much of a sweep to set the hook on panfish. If your rod is pointed at 11 O'Clock when you want to set, just a gentle sweep to 9 O'Clock (or 1 and 3 if you sweep to the right).
