  1. I have a 90 and 110 - throw them both on my H/F rig.
  2. Ya, on Minnetonka, Sheriff's Patrol is having a field day as with the high water the no-wake zone has been extended to 600'...some of the bays aren't twice that wide so the entire bay is no-wake.
  3. My UL rig is a Pflueger President 25 reel on a 6'6" Diawa Spinmatic UL rod. At retail, the total for the pair is well under $100. The rig is responsive and a joy to fish with. The Spinmatic comes in lengths from 4' to 8', so no problem finding a 7' in that series. The next up from the Spinmatic is the Presso for about $70, so getting the better rod would still keep you under the $150 max.
  4. Outside the no-wake zone on Minnetonka, the speed limit is 40mph lake wide. Some visitors get wake-up calls when water patrol pulls their boat over and hands them a ticket.
  5. Yo-Zuri hybrid - I have 4# on my Pres-25 and 10# on my Trion...treat it with KVD and it's a well performing line.
  6. For the lower end - my Ned/Drop-shot rig is the Avocet spooled with 8# Suffix Super 21.
  7. I was out Wednesday for several hours. Couldn't find any of decent size either in cover or deeper. When I was launching, I talked to someone who'd just come back in...he hadn't found any either. This was on Minnetonka; Phelps, Cook and Spring Park bays.
  8. Here's the work I did on mine.
  9. There are numerous apps available today for the fisher-person. How to pick one over another is an exercise that I'm still working on. So far I have one - I-Boating has an app for their maps. The free version allows one 'quadrant' of maps. The one I grabbed includes all the lakes I fish. With the GPS active on my tablet, I can follow the lake contours, look for likely spots and even mark waypoints. For someone without sonar, this is invaluable to me. So what apps do you have/use/recommend?
  10. Why yes, yes it is...traded it in for a Mitchell 320 not too long after this pic. Stayed with spinners for a decade-and-a-half before trying BCs again.
  11. This was either 1967 or 1968 - can't remember exactly, but the car behind us was a '67 model, so no earlier.
  12. Wacky rig for me is on my Avocet with 8# Mono. Weightless or light-weight T-Rig is on the Trion with 10# Yo-Zuri. 12# on a medium spinning reel is usable, but not ideal. T-Rigs 1/2 oz or over are on the President with 20# braid - I don't use a leader.
  13. I'm loving my Fuego - great reel for the price.
  14. Second thread that's exactly what he got...good advice from several of us. And he peed all over it and got insulting...again.
  15. He did the exact same in a second thread - now deleted. It's like he's choosing to be confrontational. How long he's going to last in BR is anyone's guess.
  16. Put a bead in front of the weight and it'll reduce the salad pickup...it's worked for me.
  17. And another thread by 'subject' bites the dust...makes you wonder.
  18. As someone who upgraded his canoe, I totally support upgrading 'lesser' vessels. Nice job, man.
  19. Without a picture...sounds like an offset circle hook. Use those in place of regular circle hooks if you don't plan on tossing the fish back. They have a higher chance of gut-hooking the fish than regular circle hooks. https://www.carolinasportsman.com/fishing/offset-off-center/
  20. Do we put a sign out? 'Troll needed, apply inside.' SMH
  21. It was just more of the same - only the 'subject' was getting more incensed and insulting.
  22. Well, if you weren't always out fishing, maybe you'd get in on the 'good stuff'.
  23. I can't state on the supposed intelligence, but I can state that the social skills need adjustment.
  24. I just sat back and watched the 'train wreck' in process in that thread. I knew I didn't have to 'contribute' to have it happen.
  25. They're in a strip mall, north frontage road of 394/12 between 494 and Cty 101 in Wayzata...just a bit east of Village Chevrolet.
