  1. Ya, that's what we're getting here - what little snow we got is almost gone and today's high is predicted to be 41. Then the bottom drops out again with Thursday night being 6 and Friday being 14. Crazy weather, dude.
  2. And if you do go ahead - be VERY patient...they won't ship any backordered item until ALL the backordered items are in stock...unlike other places that ship when an item comes in.
  3. I loved the Cabela's Action Tail worms - the BPS Stik-O not so much...
  4. Nora and I need a pair of those....
  5. There won't be anything left of that stave after a couple days though....
  6. 6061 is better - no matter the particular flavor - as the alloy has a much higher tensile strength (27,000psi for 6063-T52 vs 45,000psi for 6061-T6 - the two most commonly available alloys). When I built Bass Trek, all the framing was done in 6061-T6 for the added strength.
  7. Tonight it's a bit of Murphys Stout
  8. Original Z-Man chatterbaits were my mainstay until I started switching to Siebert's Fogy and Fogy Pro. They're a decent chatter, and I caught many a fish on them.
  9. I got the exact same unit last spring at Scheels for the same price - came with the GT-54.
  10. I like a longer rod myself Mojo Bass (pre Trigon) 7'5" MH/XF More of a MH-H as it's rated to 1&1/4 oz lure weight.
  11. Berkley Chigger Craw, Missile Baits D'Stroyer
  12. Alaska and Canada's Yukon Territory are the only places that brown bear hunting is allowed on the continent.
  13. That's a decent Scotch...not top of the line, but good for the price....I think he'll be happy with it.
  14. Wife got me a Black Bass 7'3" MH/F for my birthday last month. While not as light as a Victory, it's well balanced with a Tatula 100 on it, the taper seems to be good and it seems responsive. I might have a new line to purchase since they ruined the Mojo. I like the color scheme as well.
  15. There's a Turkish restaurant in my area - belly dancing around the tables and everything. Yep, Turkish Coffee will put hair on your chest in no time...no matter who you are. I've got a french press that I use now and then, but mainly just a $25 B&D Drip machine. I'd love to get a high-end coffee - but I'm a cheap B-Tard cause of my finances...my regular coffee of choice is Folgers Black Silk, my twice a week special is Caribou Mahogany Blend and my guilty pleasure that I 'indulge' in twice a year is Flamstead Estate Jamaican Blue Mountain....I keep a bag of whole-bean vacuum packed in the freezer, pull out enough for a couple cups, grind it, and brew it.
  16. That's gonna be me on Wednesday - though I'm the cook, so it'll be done how I like it (mostly). "Stick a fork in it and it tries to moo."
  17. Meanwhile, at the same latitude as Andy - I woke up to +25 this morning....amazing what a change in longitude can bring.
  18. Yule is here - so my gifting from Spencer has been opened. A few Mike Siebert jigs, some worm weights and a nice selection of plastics....all of this will get use this coming year, thanks man.
  19. Same here - but I made sure my saved logon info is with the E-Mail address....it had been set to my user-name.
  20. Good thoughts for your dad, Glenn.
  21. I did the canoe thing up north but down here when I tried it, it was too much trouble given the high traffic volume on my lakes. So I went and built Bass Trek starting with an old 3-seat fishing boat. My canoe was pretty tricked out too.
  22. I'm still sold on Cals - a little applied with a brush to the gears and my reels are super-smooth and quiet....even my 'cheap' Daiwa Bass-X and Pflueger President XT reels work great after a clean and re-lube. "Run away - run away bravely" A good yearly service should take at least 1/2 an hour...least that's about what it takes me per reel.
  23. I would - when he refused to even step on stage during a weigh in, I lost all respect for him.
  24. Reminds me of winter camping. We had a perk-pot that you'd set in the fire to make coffee. One time we filled it a little too much so the grounds were sitting in the water. By the time it started perking, the coffee was done, and we let it perk for another 1/2 hour. That coffee was strong enough to knock over a bull elephant, but it was hot and we were cold.....
