  1. My fob started working intermittently - replaced the batteries in the fob and it fixed the issue.
  2. And we in Minnesota are enjoying the start of summer - tonight it'll get down to 47 and tomorrow will top out at 70. Wednesday we'll have a heat wave...it'll get all the way up to 83.
  3. Problem with using IPT is that it changes. The published IPT is for a full (or nearly so) spool. The further into the spool you go, the lower the IPT is until at the base of the spool you're looking at an IPT that's up to 40% less than the published figure.
  4. That horse has been beaten so many times, there's almost nothing left to target.
  5. Ya - Altoona...just outside Des Moines...226 miles from us. 24 miles further away is Sun Prairie, WI....just outside Madison at 250 miles. Two Cabelas in the Metro - Rogers and Woodbury...then it's Owatonna.
  6. That's my reasoning....or 3 if it's 200yd spools of FC - 65yds per reel is plenty.
  7. I've used the Berkley Basic one for lines as light as 8# 832. Mount the counter down near the reel, run the line through a washcloth/towel/glove to give it tension. Then through the counter and up through the first guide and finally back down to the reel. Also have to fiddle a little with the tension adjust on the counter.
  8. Hmm...just tried it on my Galaxy Tab A7 Lite running Android 14...auto-route seems to work fine for me.
  9. It will - long as you plan the route out manually as I said earlier.
  10. Okay - my last renew was last June and US only was $18. This is the new schedule posted on the Gamin site Boating app: Price Adjustment Posted: September 21, 2023 To continue delivering the best possible cartography to our Boating app customers, we will be adjusting our prices for the following coverage areas. The new prices will go into effect on October 25, 2023. New Prices US & Canada $ 49.99 If you had to pay $90 - you got ripped someplace. I'll probably continue to use it even at the $50 price...the overlays are just too useful to me.
  11. I have the tablet version - $90? I pay $18 a year for the subscription. Routing - ya, automatic is a bit flaky at times....if I want to plot a route, I do it manually beforehand. Useless? Far from it - finding points/islands/humps, noting flats with close dropoffs, and the bottom-hardness overlay are things I use frequently. I've had the subscription for 5 years now, and will continue it even though I have a Echomap 93 with all the maps on Bass Trek now...the overlays are that useful.
  12. That's what I like about my Silverado - ya, it's only a 1500 with a 5.3l V-8...but it's got the tow package (tranny cooler, etc) and it's rated to 11,000lbs tow capacity. Not that Bass Trek is even near that....less than 2k fully rigged.
  13. Same here - my first was a 1998 Chevy 1500 Work Truck that I bought new - only new vehicle I've owned in 47 years of driving. Thing was dependable and solid...I'd still be driving it if someone hadn't made an illegal turn in 2016. Did have to replace the clutch twice - was a 5 on-the-floor manual - but that was basically it except for tires and a battery about 12 years in. With the insurance - purchased a used 2001 Silverado LS. I've replaced the battery once, the brake system and the rear leaf-springs...but again, that's been the total of non-maintenance expenses in the seven years I've had it. I'd go GM again if I needed to...
  14. I don't do business with TW anymore for several reasons. Direct from the source - https://stcroixrodfactorystore.com/products/victory-casting-rods-new-2022-models?variant=42439837548774
  15. I must be under a lucky star then - of my current arsenal of 20 rods (bass and panfish) only 3 have been purchased in person and other than that Okuma, every one has met the specs. Never had a shipping 'incident' either. Knock On Wood
  16. Send that one back and get a Victory 7'2" MH/M
  17. I had the same issue with an Okuma rod I got - the response was "Trust what's on the rod, not the website". Maybe yours will be the same, but who knows.
  18. I've seen too many times it go past the tape...get stop-collars...much more secure and accurate
  19. I have both - a Fuego CT on my frog rod and a Tatula CT on my Swim Jig rod (which use to have a Fuego CT) - there's a bit of a distance gain from the T-Wing, but not an incredible amount. It's a 'flip a coin' decision far as I'm concerned.
  20. Depends if you want the T-Wing system or not - that's the only difference between the two...otherwise they're identical - same frame, main gears, spool, braking system.
  21. Shore fishing - I pre-rig 2-3 rods, then one for panfish On the boat - I'll have 6-8 pre-rigged for a variety of techniques based on season and conditions.
  22. Scheels is actually up front about their spinning reels - may have the Scheels name on it, but on the website it blatantly states "By Daiwa"...so their reels are renamed Daiwa reels.
  23. Had been using Owner Blockheads but some baits still liked to fall over - Reaction Tackle's Warlock heads seem to stand up better so I've mainly switched to those. I've also done some testing for Allen (Munkin) on Ned heads he's casted up...so far they're working quite well.
  24. Various features, minor changes between designs...that's a low number if you look to Daiwa and Shimano JDM offerings Daiwa - 64 models Shimano - 67 models
