  1. Congrats @Mike L
  2. Clear your history and cache - might be a blip with your browser. It's up here.
  3. I'm a little different - and everything is based on IPT 33"+ for Pitch/Punch and Frogs Under 27" for Cranks and Chatterbaits 28"-32" for everything else.
  4. Yep - and it's not like the total lure weight isn't way under the rating Panfish rod is rated 1/8-1/2oz 1/32 Ned + Z-Man TRD stick = .03125+.1380=.16975 - which is just shy of 3/16 total...well over the 1/8oz minimum of the rod.
  5. Only spinning rods I have that are longer than 7': St Croix Mojo - 7'1" M/F - one inch doesn't make all that much difference. St Croix Panfish - 7'3" ML/XF - used in my bass arsenal for light hair jigs, and super finesse (1/32 Neds, etc). The extra length lets me cast that light stuff a fair distance as the rod loads better than a shorter rod Okuma Celilo - 7'6" UL/F - This is for those ultra-light crappie jigs of 1/64-1/32oz...again, UL rod and the length lets me put those out further than a shorter rod.
  6. 64 years old and I can stand and work the foot-control for my TM without issue. Just that the poor circulation in my legs requires me to sit for about 1/2 the time I'm on the water...reason I replaced the butt-seat in front with a standard seat.
  7. How to protect your keyboard from the random weirdness of the net.
  8. If nothing else - an old-fashioned swamp cooler can do the trick
  9. Keeping you and Lynn in my thoughts, Andy.
  10. Mojo 7'5" MH/XF Pflueger Patriarch 7.1 16# Spro Gouken Owner Twistlocks - unweighted, 1/16oz, or 3/32oz - all 4/0
  11. Of the pre-scented plastics I use - I'd agree that Gulp is the stinkiest...followed closely by Powerbait.
  12. Ya - Bass Trek is built on a Alumacraft F-9 hull...basically the father of the current V-14. I don't launch in higher waves, but it handles wakes from passing boats quite well...even the 'monsters' caused by wake-boats.
  13. I ran the vid full screen on my 24" monitor - and what he says is true...the FC was a little less visible than the Mono - not extravagantly so, but enough that there is a difference.
  14. Actually, that shot was this winter after I de-strung and stored the reels away. During the season, they're kept strung - ready to go.
  15. Steve Rogers did a short test of various line visibility under different conditions...results are a little surprising. 6 minutes total
  16. I got these for use - yes, more expensive than lead, but not totally obscene in price MUNN Tungsten Teardrop Weights
  17. It's not any better - but I won't buy WG products. They're based here and have had multiple citations for polluting the ground, safety issues with their employees, etc-etc-etc. They pay the fine...and continue to pollute and not insure the safety of their employees. They actually got shut down for a while...and made a token effort...but they're still behind the curve...nope, won't support them.
  18. Did we have a whoopsie, LS?
  19. For home storage - I built this rack. 24 slots originally one direction only, but I've since added a third vertical so I can alternate. I've got several color combos of socks (red/black, blue/black, etc) and try to sort by general type...but inevitably I pull the sock up enough to read what rod it is when I'm selecting. Socks and covers come off when I pull a rod from the compartment in the boat and put it on deck.
  20. We got a 3 dog limit unless you're a licensed breeder or kennel Down there maybe - up here, the city has all kinds of restrictions of what I can and can't do with/on my property...and no, I'm not in an association - those 'people' are just crazy.
  21. Kansas Angler Catches New State-Record Crappie Outdoor Life https://www.outdoorlife.com › ... › Crappie Fishing Feb 7, 2024 — It weighed 4.63 pounds and was 22 inches long. Angler Hazel Fey caught the crappie out of Woodson State Fishing Lake. For bait, Fey was ...
  22. Reels in the $100 ballpark are good Shimano SLX Daiwa Fuego CT Two off the top of my head that are quality reels at that price - I've still got Fuego CTs in my arsenal that I use...it's a good reel. $100 rods - Shimano SLX, Daiwa Tatula XT to name a couple - are also out there and of good quality.
  23. I'd save the expensive flouro for leader material on braid-loaded reels. This is what I use for backing Casting reels - $10.99 for 1500yds Spinning reels - $6.49 for 3000yds
  24. St Croix Avid Inshore series - there's a few Heavy power rods in there. Fenwick HMG Inshore and Elite Inshore - both have Heavy power rods
