  1. MH/F is pretty much the 'Swiss Army Knife' of rods...it'd probably be a shorter list to say what it can't do. Jigs, T-Rigs, 3/8oz+ Shakey Heads, 3/8oz+ Soft Swimbaits, Whopper Ploppers, small hard Swimbaits (Bucca Baby Shad or Baby Gill), 3/8oz+ Jig-Worms...and that's just the start.
  2. Are you a Dr? No? My meds keep me balanced...without them, I'm a frickin' mess. Don't be giving this kind of medical advice unless A: You're a licensed psychiatrist and B: You have personal knowledge of the 'patient'.
  3. We know your position on this....I just think you get bored easily, so have no patience.
  4. If I wanted to stare at fish on a screen, there's plenty of YouTube videos shot underwater.
  5. Pretty much the only difference I see between my 6'10" ML/XF and my 7'3" ML/XF is I can get more distance from the longer rod, but I'm more accurate with pinpoint casting with the shorter rod. Far as reels - on the 6'10" I've got a Miravel 1000 and on the 7'3" I've got an Ultegra 1000...I like 1000 size for finesse work.
  6. That's why I'll stick with Mighty Max when I upgrade to Lithium...but purchased through Home Depot, not Amazon. That way if there's an issue, I just return it to the Home Depot that's 12 miles away.
  7. @MIbassyaker - my year exactly. With the ulcerated wound on my right ankle, the pain prohibits me from launching/landing Bass Trek...so I'm stuck on shore until it heals. I get out once a week, if I'm fortunate. I've had one day where I took home some eating size (my standards) bluegill, but the only bass I've caught this year was this past week - and they wouldn't have scored. Maybe I'll get out on the boat a couple times this fall....if I'm lucky.
  8. Andy, I know it probably feels like you don't have enough time to get everything done before she's home - trust me, with the number of times Nora's been in the hospital for one thing or another, I've been where you are now. Try not to stress it, get the important things done, minor crap can be done later. DON'T FORGET TO BREATHE. You got this, pal.
  9. If you're talking sonar only - certain Minnkota units with built in sonar will connect to Garmin Echomaps. If you're talking remote control of the TM from the Echomap - you're limited to the Force or Kraken TMs from Garmin.
  10. Maybe nibble is the wrong word, but when I feel a bass go 'tap-tap-tap' at my Ned or Shakey head, my heart starts racing waiting for it to commit and take my offering.
  11. Worcester too....
  12. Doesn't matter which one is capped off long as the red from the TM matches up with the 'live' connection on the plug. I'd personally replace the 3-prong TM plug with a 2-prong one...but that's me.
  13. The left one is a small chart used by CG cadets during training cruise. The ship is the USCGC Eagle - the ship that some of the cadets take their training cruise on. Note: The Eagle is one of two sailing vessels still considered part of the active duty fleet of the US Military; the other is the USS Constitution....ya, they never decommissioned her.
  14. That's my position exactly.
  15. ^ And it all revolves around your available budget. What's merely difficult for one person to afford, is out of the realm of possibility for someone else.
  16. Last time I was at my normal shore spot - a couple pelicans paid us a visit.
  17. Same here - I actually gave mine away.
  18. @Bluebasser86 - worst part about that, Clayton...I can see you doing that with a completely straight face.
  19. I'm sure with Lynn home, even having to take trips for her treatments, it'll reduce your stress level. Give her a hug from us...and take one yourself.
  20. This is about 15 years of loss...I'm not to @Catt's 'level' yet...but working on it. Wife says my ponytail just pulled everything back.... 🙃
  21. All fish above a certain size get netted, and it's a judgement call as they get close. I've certainly netted fish below that threshold, but I've never line-landed any above.
  22. Here-here - I've caught bass, walleye and pike on full size; crappie, bluegill and perch on Flashback Minis..seems everything likes a chatterbait
  23. I remember those....I'm this old
  24. I''m still waiting to catch a bass on a T-Rig...I think they're laughing at me when I try.
