  1. I grabbed the 25-pack of 1/8oz drop-shot weights...then cut half of them down to 1/16oz for panfish use. Also grabbed a spool of their x8 braid in 15# to give it a test...see how it rates - at the price, it's a cheap test. My only complaint really is that they don't offer the x8 in anything under 10#.
  2. That the bomb-bay of a 52?
  3. Whether it is or not - for the winter mine get pulled into the basement along with all my lures, rods and reels. Constant 68-degrees down there even in deep winter when outside it's -30.
  4. I've bought a few things from Reaction Tackle - good stuff, good prices...I'll shop with them again.
  5. With his fellow Metro angler right above him...both Seth and Austin are from the Minneapolis area.
  6. Loved that show as a kid. Another one I watched all the time - can you identify it?
  7. Yep - Lackland AFB is right on the outskirts of San Antonio...that's where Basic Training is. Special Training (Security, Computers, Aircraft Mechanic, etc) is done at other bases. I did my basic training middle of August through end of September...close to the worst time of year to be marching and standing outside in that part of the country...luckily PT was early mornings (up at 4am, on the grounds for calisthenics and running by 4:30)
  8. At 64 (three months to catch up to Andy), I can shore fish for 6-8 hours long as I got my chair with me, otherwise it's 2-3 hours. Last year I did take Bass Trek out for 6 hour sessions a couple times, and could have gone more but needed to get home to take care of the wife. I think a lot of it has to do with 'getting in the zone' - you get so involved with the 'hunt' that time just slips away from you.
  9. Like Andy said - lay them down neatly, don't pile them up. I usually have 6 on deck and have never had the tangle issue cause I place them down, not drop or toss them.
  10. Sunnies and Crappie here ARE caught to eat - it's illegal in MN to use them as bait. The shore spots here are lined up with people targeting panfish to take home for a fish fry.
  11. Does Keri know you turned away a side job for her?
  12. Places to contact to find that info State DFW County Director City Manager
  13. Does that mean we have to pay to get your autograph now?
  14. I don't even own any Megabass lures. Rapala, Berkley, Yo-Zuri, Smithwicks are how I roll.
  15. I don't trust snaps...had enough failures where they open up that I'd rather keep my lures when possible. Also, as TB mentioned - retying is a good thing...knots weaken under stress and if you don't retie often, you're putting an old-stressed knot under pressure.
  16. I'll assume you're talking the tie-on connection. Oval split rings for cranks, teardrop split rings for jerks and walking baits.
  17. I've fished rods both with and without U-40 treatment...I haven't noticed much if any difference in the 'slickness' of the handle...so all mine get U-40, no excuses.
  18. Sufix 832 has been my mainstay - but I am trying out some Spro X8 and some Reaction Tackle 8x line. If price is no object - Smackdown has them all beat.
  19. Through Sunday, ALF has 20% off all their used rods and reels. I've purchased both from them and they're always in excellent shape mechanically and visually.
  20. Almost sunset over Coffee Cove, Lake Minnetonka.
  21. Another evening out - got there a couple hours before sunset, stayed for an hour after that. Quiet night - only got one bass it was all of 14oz. Again on the 1/8oz Shakey with the GP-Magic Finesse Worm.
  22. Primarily looking for a good frog rod - still using my Aird-X 7'0" H/F for that application.
  23. Yep - anywhere you'd use grease on a reel, you can use Cal's.
  24. 13 casting rigs, 3 spinning bass rigs, 4 spinning panfish rigs - so 20 total. If I'm out on Bass Trek, I usually start the day with 6 rigged up and on the deck...adding as the day progresses. Shore fishing it's 3-4 with me. I'm a keeping an eye out - much prefer split-grips to full cork....ya, I'm weird that way.
