Well, the only main difference between them is usually JDM reels have aluminum alloy main gears and the USDM reels have brass main gears. JDM reels are lighter for this fact. Otherwise they follow the exact same assembly including virtually all the other parts.
Personally - I've been getting more reels JDM through Digitaka. Comparing the internals of a JDM Tatula 100 with a USDM Tatula 100 when I did cleaning...I really can't find a notable difference.
Are you talking made for the US market vs made for the Asian market? Neither manufacturer has facilities here in the states to make reels - they're all made in Malaysia, S. Korea or Japan itself. There is a difference between reels of the same model depending on the market they're designated for...but that holds true for both makers.
You're staring in a Sci-Fi movie and you have to rent your own (ugly) futuristic vehicle?
Wow....
(I'm not joking, I've seen these...things...on the road around here - hate is too mild a term for my thoughts of the aesthetics.)
Had to repeat this as I don't use the Palomar for anything. My knot of choice for terminal is the MK, with a FG or Alberto for mainline-leader joining.
Add in the Double-Uni for backing to mainline and an Arbor knot and you've got all the knots I used.
Ya - prop that came with the 25 got dinged up during the 2022 season, so I needed a new one.
I got a headache trying to figure out what would work and what wouldn't - so finally just went with the same pitch/blades as the OEM prop...works just fine and I can get up to 25mph - not bad for a 25hp on a 14' 'fishing' boat.
It's like a horse/donkey cross - a mule. Northerns and Muskie are close enough that they can interbreed, but just far enough that the progeny is sterile.
Sounds like the AR bearing got contaminated with grease/oil. If it's still under warranty, I'd return it...otherwise send it in to be repaired. Our own DVT (see link in right-hand list of sponsors) can get it fixed for you.
Instagram and TikTok are the biggies now....and I refuse to have anything to do with either of them - I even keep my Facebook toned down and reject 99%+ of friend requests.
I'm enjoying the one I got - 6x3600 boxes in the main compartment, 1x3600 in the front zip, 1x3600 under the bungee cords up top. Has held up well the last 3 years.

I grabbed the 25-pack of 1/8oz drop-shot weights...then cut half of them down to 1/16oz for panfish use. Also grabbed a spool of their x8 braid in 15# to give it a test...see how it rates - at the price, it's a cheap test. My only complaint really is that they don't offer the x8 in anything under 10#.
Whether it is or not - for the winter mine get pulled into the basement along with all my lures, rods and reels. Constant 68-degrees down there even in deep winter when outside it's -30.
