  1. We got that too - and a short power outage...just long enough to reboot my desktop.
  2. I knew what it was right off the bat - my grand-uncle lived in SC and my cousin lives in NC...both areas where Paw Paws are abundant. They can't ship them though...they're only good for 2-3 days after picking unlike things like apples that are good for a week or two.
  3. I think you mean CDO (gotta be in alphabetical order for MY 'CDO')
  4. Ya - a good pair of diagonal side cutting dykes would be enough for any hook
  5. Wouldn't it be easier to just hand them the rig?
  6. It was a substation that went - pretty much the entire Island was without power.
  7. Could have done without the 6hr power outage last night - lost it about 7pm, finally came back on just before 1am this morning.
  8. 2D is gonna target a cone centered on the transducer - fish marks are somewhere in that cone - sonar return will give you depth, but not direction or distance Down-Scan gives you a narrow 'oval' again centered on the transducer - again, they're somewhere in the scanning field Side-Scan throws out a pair of 'wings' which will at least tell you what side of the boat they're on and a 'guesstimate' of the distance. Finding where the fish are is problematical with any of those - but the further down the list you go, the better targeting you have. FFS is getting popular because it tells you EXACTLY where fish are...depth, distance and direction. Diagrams of sonar zones - in the second one, Yellow and Red are 2D, Green is Down-Scan, Blue is Side-Scan
  9. Omnia's having a Labor Day sale - 20% off sitewide with code LABORDAY20
  10. Another reason I tear apart new reels when I get them - the first is that I've received reels that either had way too much grease on the gears or none at all...ya, totally dry.
  11. Unless my partner was a heel, I'd have no issues switching to what ever they were using if they're catching more fish than me. It's part of the partner's code - you help each other, and that includes sharing info on what's working. If my partner was a heel - they wouldn't be my partner very long.
  12. Lund (and Alumacraft) originated up here where the lakes are big and occasionally rough. If the hull appears to be in good condition, I'd have no problems buying that boat. My own is a 1972 Alumacraft that I gutted and rebuilt the interior...it's still solid as a rock. A Lund hull was also on my list when I was looking for a boat.
  13. ^ I've gone as small as 6# Fluoro to 10# braid without issues. I finish the same as @Functional with 3, cut and 3 I do the same with all my leaders - 40# braid to 15# fluoro, 20# braid to 10# Fluoro and 15# braid to 8# Fluoro.
  14. I try to set it to 1/3 the lightest line in the run. On my 10# braid to 6# leader, that's 2# of drag. Adjusting as needed if a fish is continually running and stripping line.
  15. Desk jockey....
  16. ^ InviszX is what I normally buy
  17. Come on, Katie - that's half the 'fun'....having boxes of lures that'll never get wet.
  18. Given the size of Leech - there's more than enough room for that many. My college g-friend kept her 24' Ketch at Walker Bay and we'd take it out on weekends...so I'm fairly familiar with the lake.
  19. A little under, but not extremely so. I'd fill it to where the black and gold meet...or as Mr @Dwight Hottle stated...the groove.
  20. While I'm right handed normally - my left arm is actually the stronger/steadier of the two. So I cast left and retrieve right...all my spinning reels get the handles swapped. Also, with the loss of my right eye, it's easier to hit the target lining up with the left arm/eye combination.
  21. Probably cause it's not a beer - you can't directly compare beer/lager to a stout....its' just not done. Saying that - Guiness, Murphy's and some stuff @Deephaven introduced me to called 'Nitro Milk Stout' are my brews of choice....can't stand 'American P**s Water' anymore.
  22. It's not just the price - that bugger weighs 22lbs according to the site.
  23. This is what I've got. It's pretty inexpensive, but locks the hitch to the receiver and the coupler lever with same-key
  24. Spinning version of the casting rod I use Victory 6'8" M/XF
