  1. Oh - MH/MF can be a cranking stick, especially squarebills and lipless - but the MF action is also very useful for spinner/chatterbaits, Light to Moderate cover pitching/flipping, moving topwaters like Whopper Ploppers/Choppos and small hard swimbaits like the Bucca Baby Bull Shad, Baby Bull Gill and Baby Bull Rat. I wouldn't use it for jigs, T/C rigs or anything else requiring quick actions like jerkbaits/spooks, but it's a fairly versatile rod.
  2. Tell that to the Mississippi up here, cause I don't think it got the message...that sucker freezes over just about every winter and shuts down the barge traffic. Mississippi river looking at the Minneapolis skyline from Boom Island. Or how about Minnehaha Falls? That solid mass just left of center is the frozen waterfall...the bridge over the stream is above it....stream and waterfall frozen solid.
  3. One thing to remember - the Tatula CT is just a Fuego CT with the T-Wing....otherwise they're identical...so compare the SLX with the Fuego.
  4. When I finally get the money together, Russ? That's the big question.
  5. You and her are in my thoughts, Andy.
  6. And here I was looking to upgrade to an Xi3 because it had the features I wanted, was more affordable than MinnKota with the same features, and solid performance based on reviews....now what do I do?
  7. The model number would help - it'll be a series of letters and numbers starting with 'JOC'
  8. ^ That's exactly how mine worked. Saw a charge on my personal debit that I refuted to the bank, they held the charge (no money going out) until they investigated, they refused the charge and sent me a new card as that one was rampantly part of the TW fiasco a few years back....the balance in my checking account never changed. Debit charges at my bank are 'pending' for two days...if the charge is not refuted within 48 hours - THEN they take the money out...my debit charges are NOT immediate payment like cash...they treat it like a written check where you can cancel a check you've given out within a certain time period.
  9. I wouldn't say no to that combo. Who am I kidding - I've got a Tatula 100 HS on an Aird-X 7'0" MH/F - it's my main spinner/chatter rig. Even with my Mojos and Victories, I still like the Aird-X....my frog rod is an Aird-X H/F (grin)
  10. Aware of it for a while now - but I'm not in a good location for star-gazing....it's not the light pollution, it's all the trees. With my current ankle situation, I can't walk far, and lugging my 6" Newtonian is definitely a no-go. Thanks for the pics though...I'll have to 'stargaze' vicariously through others for now.
  11. They use to - Personal Finance class when I was attending back in the 70s
  12. I have two checking accounts with debit cards - one is the joint account on a Visa, the other is my personal 'play money' on a Mastercard. What Gim says is true, and it's happened to me...the cards are protected against fraud just like a credit card.
  13. ^ Best answer!
  14. The man you want to talk with is Mr @J Francho - he's our resident NY expert. John...wanna give the newbie some more hints?
  15. You're kinda like Minnesota...only places we have shad are lakes connected to the rivers. Otherwise it's perch, bluegill, crappie and minnows. I know MA has Whitefish and Shiners - and that's what the white spinners/chatters are tying to imitate. So despite not having shad, you do have bait fish that are close enough to shad to use those white/light colored lures. <-(grew up in Central MA)
  16. Amazon has them in stock now for $5.99/10 pack
  17. Final assembly maybe....but as noted, all the cells are coming out of China.
  18. Sounds like a bait I'll have to add to my box for next spring....thanks for the report, man.
  19. Depends - as an ex-programmer in a corporate environment, it was the users who pointed out errors to us that we'd have to debug and fix....the end-users WERE our 'testers'.
  20. St Croix - my Victory, Mojo Bass and even my Panfish models have no issues with braid-leader knots. FG or Alberto is what I use whether it's 8#braid/6#FC or 20#braid/10# YZH.
  21. Then back to a high of 73 by Thursday....this is nuts.
  22. More excellent news on the MI front. Dialysis is not fun, so her being off it for even a time is a blessing. Hang in there, pal...we're all rooting for the two of you.
  23. MEK, Sulfuric Acid, Nitric Acid, the list goes on....there's a whole schmeer of things you can get over-the-counter that are dangerous. Heck, gasoline is dangerous - one spark and "POOF"...and they let kids dispense it willy-nilly into their go-carts and power-bikes.
  24. @Crow Horse - you win the resurrection award of the day - almost 15 years in slumber and you poked it...congrats.
