  1. Looks like you can get a carbon paddle for around $75 some places. Is material the only main thing that matters? It doesn't seem like the design would make a noticeable difference but I don't know anything about this, so...
  2. I give out plastic Zoom lizards out to people on the bank because they work so well where I fish.
  3. Depends on how you set the hook. If you tend to set it really hard you may want to keep a light drag.
  4. Surely a $100 paddle is sufficient though. After all, it's a piece of metal.
  5. Looking to buy a fishing kayak in the future but I don't know anything about paddles. What's the best one I can get under $100, but preferably under $75?
  6. Thanks. Don't you have a Pescador Perception, or am I thinking of someone else...?
  7. It's hard to tell in the pictures. Is the seat elevated at all?
  8. Thank you. Do you have any experience with the Perception Pescador Pro? My family is planning on moving within the next 1.5 years or so for my brother and I to go to college so I'm probably going to wait til then to get one so I don't have to worry about moving it, and because I don't have enough for a nice one right now. But I want to make a list at some point of the top five I'm considering or something so I'll have an idea of what I want when I decide to get one. Also, in your experience, can a bigger bass pull a kayak without an anchor around very much? I'm wondering if I'll need an anchor...
  9. I've been fishing from the bank for a couple years now and I'm thinking about buying a nice fishing kayak within the next couple years. It's always looked really fun to me, but I have no idea what kind to buy. I'm thinking I'll probably be fishing in smaller ponds in lakes in the future and I want to keep it under $1000 definitely so I'm probably going to get a paddle kayak, but beyond that, I don't know. Could I have a basic guide to buying and using one from one of you kayak guys? Also, in my price range would I be able to get a stable one that I can stand up in? That part is actually pretty important to me. Thanks. Edit: Will I need some kind of anchor system so I don't get dragged around the lake whenever I hook one? If so, what kind?
  10. Are those Sling Bladez spinnerbaits good? I've been thinking about stocking up on those.
  11. I throw spinnerbaits a lot. They do work pretty well. Thanks. I found an area that I've been catching a lot of fish in recently. I think it's because it's shallow water near deep water so they're just moving up there as it warms up.
  12. You're right. There's the SHISHAMO with 17 + 1 bearings. Not line twist, Pro, and some hydrographics thrown in. Are you sure it wasn't just tight? Mine has to be pressed pretty hard to open. You'll love it if you get one. I compared it to my Fuego yesterday at the pond and it just felt like it was casting farther with no backlash.
  13. It's 68 here.
  14. I never catch any in shallow cover when it's overcast, but then when the sun comes out I start catching them in those spots. Look at my reply to Glaucus above this. I wonder if these bass just aren't normal bass because evereybody's saying they should be in shallow cover but they're definitely not in shoreline cover unless it's sunny. ?
  15. Where do fish go when it's overcast? I've always just randomly fancasted around the pond and hoped to get lucky when it's not sunny because they don't seem to be on shallow cover, but I've noticed recently that everybody seems to just be fishing cover when it's overcast. Do fish not roam from cover to feed when it's overcast? Do they prefer deeper cover/structure when it's like that?
  16. I had white bird that I did everything with for a long time. I don't really remember if it was sensitive or balanced or anything but it was indestructible.
  17. I'll test it with no lure on it tomorrow. It depends a lot on the reel though; my Fuego will backlash if I try to cast something really light on it but I can flick that 1/10 jighead/grub out there pretty far with my Shimano SLX.
  18. 1/10th oz. jigheads with a small ned rig soft plastic on the back. Still much less than 1/4 with the soft plastic on it.
  19. I throw 1/8, 3/16, even 1/10th ounce lures on my MH rod all the time with no problem. I don't have that rod but I can confirm that you can definitely throw 1/4 ounce on it.
  20. Unfortunately you're probably right.
  21. Cabela's/Basspro has Seaguar Red Label 50% off right now.
  22. Which walmart? Tell me so I can go spend all my money on that great deal.
