  1. Yup. I'd bet that they tell each other stories of people sightings.
  2. Yep. T-rigs/jigs are definitely the best choice in that situation.
  3. In general, stained water = black/blue. Clear water = green pumpkin/watermelon red/etc.
  4. Nice. Do you have any problems with hooksets/missed fish with that rod? I got at least two bites today and missed them both on the hookset. There was a third tap, but I didn't set the hook because I thought it was a rock.
  5. Looks like a rock bass.
  6. Do you generally throw it in fairly heavy cover? That sounds pretty heavy for a wacky rig, but then again, I don't have much experience with that rig...
  7. My finesse setup is a ML/F Dobyns fury paired with a Pflueger President XT. (15 lb. braid mainline w/ an 8 pound flouro leader) I just bought some 4 inch senkos and some 1/8 oz. VMC wacky jigs. Will the ML rod be heavy enough for fishing that in open water/light cover? I fished it for about 10 minutes earlier and got 2 bites, but missed them on the hookset.
  8. ?
  9. 8 lb. or less sounds about right.
  10. How do you hook the trick worm? I just bought a package today.
  11. I never would've believed you if not for the picture. I do now.
  12. Yeah... Did you really get a picture? ?
  13. Did you snag his favorite lure or something? ?
  14. I'm for Croatia.
  15. Idea for any REAL SMART person that has a bigfoot costume and a gopro: Put the costume on, go to some nearby wooded hiking trails, and set up the gopro on a tree/rock near the trail. Wait for someone to come by, and do that classic arm-swinging bigfoot walk. Post the footage on this topic. Good idea, right? Edit: Yes, the title was clickbait Edit: This is a joke, of course. Don't actually try it.
  16. Yeah. I might try a barbed one and see how hard it is to remove next time I'm out.
  17. Thanks. I forgot to mention in the orginal post that I de-barb my hooks for easy removal. I feel like I was actually losing more fish before because I wasn't penetrating past the barb, but it's hard to tell.
  18. I'm using the Z-man finesse TRD paired with the Z-man shroomz 1/10 oz. jigheads. I'll read that article as soon as I have time. Thanks. Thanks. 5 of them jumped, and the last one just popped off. Never saw him. Thanks. And yup - Z-man shroomz jig. Thanks. I forgot to mention that my hooks are barbless. I used to use barbed hooks and I'm afraid I injured a lot of bass with them, so I just started smashing down the barbs with pliers. Braid to flouro leader.
  19. Just bought my first finesse setup (ML/F Dobyns Fury rod paired with a Pflueger President XT) and the first lure I bought was the ned rig. I've fished with it three times so far, and each time I've hooked two fish. Problem is, I've lost every single fish so far. 6 out of 6 fish have shaken the hook, and I think I'm either doing something wrong, or it's just hard to land a fish on a ned rig. Any advice? It's getting frustrating at this point considering that two of those fish were 3+ pounders. Edit: Forgot to mention that I de-barb my hooks. Never lost many fish on t-rigs, spinnerbaits, etc. doing that before...
  20. Just wondering what kind of finesse lures most people use. Just bought my first finesse setup but I'm not sure what to buy first.
  21. Keeps removing my link. Just google "KVD Mustad split ring pliers/braid cutters" That think cuts 65 pound braid effortlessly. Also has split ring pliers for changing out treble hooks.
  22. My first finesse rod is coming in the mail tomorrow. It's a dobyns fury 702. I'll definitely try the dropshot.
  23. Coincidentally, I just got back from fishing a new pond for 45 minutes or so. Got 2 bites a spinnerbait (likely the same fish) but missed both of them. I tied on a squarebill later and hooked a pretty good one, but he just swam to the bank and popped the hook out before I could lip him. ? It's got decent water clarity, a lot of docks, and some rip-rap. I also saw a decent bass swimming along the shoreline. I might try that. I could post a picture of it if that would help.
