  1. Are gators that prevalent in all of SC or is it just the area you live in? We were thinking about moving to Greenville soon..
  2. Everyone's already said this I guess but I would go with Tatula CT.

    Why?

I live in a nice subdivision (it used to be, at least) and like fishing ponds nearby, bike riding, etc. and in the past couple days I've gotten yelled at by three random strangers for no reason, plus had a car try to run me over on my bike. I was fishing a pond nearby earlier and some guy in the ugliest purple car I've ever seen slows down, screams "you ain't gonna catch ****", and drives away. (I caught a 3~ pounder with a gizzard shad in it's mouth right after he drove away ?) What in the heck is wrong with these people? Sorry for the rant, but I'm just sick of this.
  4. They're all solid reels. I have the president XT and it's awesome though.
  5. Do you know anything about these? https://www.zappos.com/p/ariat-hybrid-rancher-distressed-brown/product/8184159/color/16158 because I can't decide which ones I want.
  6. Just bought a KVD jerkbait with three trebles. Are those a nightmare to remove? It just looks like it would take forever to get out if all three were hooked.(especially deep) What are your experiences with these?
  7. Have you tried imitating the baitfish? If you have a ned rig that would probably work well, but you could always cut down a bigger soft plastic in a pinch.
  8. I have that exact reel and I do have trouble throwing spinnerbaits on it, but I fill my spools up a lot so that makes a difference. It was a workout trying to burn a willow leaf when I used it for that. Do you fill up your spools pretty high?
  9. Nothing. Haha jk, swim jigs and glide baits for me.
  10. I hooked two 5~ pounders on it in two hours the other day. (one came off at the bank and I landed the other)
  11. Yes. Any quality reel should if you take care of it.
  12. That actually seems likely to me. If people have to replace their jerkbaits twice as often then, well, they make twice as much.
  13. I fear the ladle wielding Chinese restaurant guy may have caught up to him.
  14. Get a ML if you can. MH is definitely too heavy, but it will work if you need it to.
  15. There are plenty of good options but I assure you that you won't be disappointed if you get a Fuego or SLX.
  16. Ned rig by far. It's 115 degrees here every day right now...
  17. I turned my spool tension down and was getting solid 100~ foot casts with no backlash today.
  18. After using both I would still say spinning gear is better for it, but not by much if you have the right BC gear.
  19. I like braid for cover and flouro if I'm fishing them in open water. But it really doesn't matter.
  20. Does the scorpion have cent. brakes? I was getting 25yd.~ casts today with a 1/16th head. Caught a solid 3.5er after not catching anything in weeks so that was good too. The ned really does work that well I guess. My old ned spinning reel isn't in working order anymore. ? It worked out really well for me today. It was as sensitive as any flourocarbon I've used, I think. 8# test held up for pulling a good sized one out of cover so it's strong enough for me. Have you ever tried lighter heads? It seems the lighter the head the more you catch.
  21. I just picked up some 8 lb. p-line floroclear for it. Never used copolymer before but so far it handles really well.
  22. I used to use a spinning rod for my ned rigs but I want to try them again so I'm trying to use one on my SLX reel tomorrow. Does anybody else fish these on a casting reel?
