  1. Thanks again - guys I appreciate all the welcomes
  2. Hookinmouth - what did you decide?
  3. Thanks all
  4. This was a tracker dealer not at BPS. You would think if they could up sell me he would have sold me a bigger main motor and a kicker which would have added thousands to my overall purchase. Do you think the image is of a stock kicker mount for a pontoon boat or a homemade rigging? I am just saying to be careful so you don't void your warranty.
  5. Hello, I have been fishing for 40 of the last 50 years but have taken the last 10 years off. I am back at it and last year we purchased a pontoon boat and were fishing most weekends. This year we purchased an older aluminum bass boat so that I am better able to launch and load up myself when I have a day off and also able to fish electric only lakes. Look forward to learning a lot from these forums and appreciate the willingness of you guys to share. I hope that the weather breaks here in PA soon because I need to stop buying fishing stuff and start using it :).
  6. I was in the exact same situation as you describe. I purchased the 2017 Bass Buggy DLX last year and during the purchasing process I asked about a kicker and was told that you couldn't do that on the pontoon boat. I don't know if that is because of a warranty issue (obviously some have done it so you could). I decided that with a decent number of lakes having the 20 HP limit throughout the state (and the fact that Nockamixon is close to me) that I would go with a 20 HP on the boat. I have found it to be fine and honestly don't regret the decision. I am able to go 10+ mph fully loaded and with 2-3 people. True I am getting passed like I am trolling at Beltzville but I am not in such a rush anyway. When meeting up with friends at Beltzville and we are moving to another area I just tell them see you in a bit :). I think that so many fishermen with bigger bass boats pass up on the HP restricted lakes if there are others lakes in the area that are unlimited. I would much rather go to Nockamixon on a weekend when Beltzville is jam packed with bigger boats.
  7. I have been watching this topic for a long time now... My story. I thought about buying a used boat that would be something I could handle launching and loading easier by myself and fishing smaller electric only lakes (we have a 20 ft. Sun Tracker pontoon boat and it is somewhat of a pain when launching and loading by myself). So then seeing the prices of used boats and coming across the Heritage boat convinced me that the Heritage boat was the way to go. I placed the order a few weeks ago and the boat was due in next week. Some issues that I didn't like about the Heritage: Living in PA I am close to Lake Nockamixon which is a 20 HP limit lake so having a 40 HP would limit my ability to fish there. Another was the 9 gallon livewell - I don't really keep many fish but between bait and either some panfish or catfish I would have preferred a 2nd livewell or a larger one. The last issue I was worried about the quality - I looked at the Heritage and even the 170 at Bass Pro and both boats had issues - Heritage the carpet was bunched up on the side wall and the pedestal seats were very wobbly (maybe just from a lot of people on it but...). Even the 170 had 2 sections of flooring that met right at the front pedestal seat that were uneven to the point I would be worried about tripping all the time. I never gave up the search for a used boat and ended up finding and purchasing a Lowe boat that hopefully works out for me a little bit better. Congratulations to all who have purchased this boat it is certainly a great deal. It has been exciting to see how many guys who never owned a boat or haven't for a long time are getting back into fishing. I have kept reading this thread even after I purchased my Lowe boat and find the modifications that you guys are doing to be great. I can't wait to see you guys cruising around the lakes with your awesome looking boats. I will be sure to say hello.
