I have competition fished for over 30 years. I include a small key ring style Loop on the front of my Lures so that you can use the snap swivels for quick easy change overs. I only use the rounded snap swivels As they aid in the natural movement of the lure... more so then a pointed style or direct line tie even.

First of all you paint some gorgeous lures. You must have a fortune into stencils, or do you have a vacume box? I personally free hand all my lures (one off's). I have a vacume box and occasionally make a clip on stencil but really enjoy the challenge of free handling them. Keep the pictures commuting. I enjoy seeing what others are doing.

I'm starting this post to see who's using what airbrush/s and hopefully you can upload a couple pics of your lures. My main 3 airbrushes are The Paasche Talon, The Badger Renegade Krome, and Badger Soltar 20/20. Just not an Iwata fan. Nothing wrong with them just simply my personal preference is all.

I can't upload any pics at all. It let me resize profile pic but then only uploaded the rear half and it's blurry as hell. I paint some really nice 3D looking lures which have become my main sellers for the last year or so but can't upload anything to display my talent. I am enjoying other's work though.

I have my own special base that I put on to help the paint adhere better but "it is white" which helps the paint colors show better. My base also aids in the 3D effects I specialize in.

Pretty nice work. What airbrush/s are you using. My main 2 brushes I use are the Paasche Talon and Badger Krome. Also have and use occasionally Badger's Soltar 20/20.

All very good. I think I use them all at one time or another.

I use my map torch and when they're warm I use regular pliers. They bend easier and smoother when warmed.

Devcom II 30 minute epoxy is what I use to do custom lures. It held up to a 9 foot gator for 20 minutes and only lost two small chips While leaving the plastic lure blank untouched. Actual use time is at best 15 minutes. After you apply it (with a small paint brush) use either a heat gun or hair dryer on it for a few seconds to remove any air bubbles. KVS diamond clearcoat can be purchased on Amazon for around $35 I use the Devcon II because of the shelf life plus I like it strength better. I tried the KVS but changed back.

Definitely would do a 3D wild shinier paint job on it. Perfect size and shape. Can I ask where you got the blank and the cost?

Devon 2 ton, 2 part epoxy. It hardens fast, waterproof, and has a long shelf life as well as being awesome for many house hold tasks. The lure in my profile pic is sealed with it. Another lure I did was hit by a 9 foot gator and I fought him for 20 minutes the seal was so good that the Lure remain untouched and only two small chips of paint and sealer came off. I still use the lure today it's one of my most productive. Get the thirty min stuff (actually have 12 - 15 min use time).cures to full strength in a few hours. Great on braided lines!

I have been doing a lures for a few years now and really enjoyed painting crank baits I use very high-end airbrushes I have three Paashe and now three of badgers best including the new chrome... talk about getting some detail into your Lures. It's all in the airbrush

It's an awesome time. They used to have vendors and was a great place to pick up tackle etc. Not sure now ( it's been many years ) but definitely don't miss the weigh ins. Have fun and good luck.
