  1. No powerpoles or talons? And a question, is your electronics all linked or the 360 you can only see from the screen near the trolling motor ?
  2. Ima give it another try sometime. Maybe when the wind isnt as bad. The jon cant handle the wind as good as them bass boats?
  3. Yeah theres some cool looking cypress trees out there. Especially the ones about 100 yards off shore. But even when i moved away from the frog to a speedworm and sticbait still got no strikes. I tried to look for beds but the water i could only see about 6 inches into lol
  4. Yeah first cast of the morning then nothing the rest of the day haha
  5. Went to palestine just south of ocean pond outside of lake city got there around 7:15. First cast caught 7 lbs 11 oz bass. From what it looks she was already spaund out. So after that thinking i would have an awesome day kept working the grass and pads with frog, no other bites. Then it was about 9:30 tried just running a speed worm to cover ground. No bites. So by that time got really windy around 11 with no bites other than the first cast of the morning.. moved to a lipless crankbait on a deeper outter grass line. Nothing. Called it a day along with 3 other boats that didnt catch anything. First time ever on that lake. Looks really good but from what the guys that fish it alot said its not too good and worth the extra 30 min to hit locloosa, orange, or sante fe.
  6. Headin down to either ocean pond or lake palestine on the weekend. Taking my wife so looking for easy fishing and lots of bites if thats even possible just to keep her more entertained. Any advice on these small lakes or should i just go somewhere else lol. Thanks any advice will help btw i just have a cc g3 jon.
  7. Haha yeah wind wasnt too bad but didnt win. And didnt do that great the spots near danes point that we have been pulling 26 in reds from was beaten by a bigger boat and from there we just tried to sight fish some known areas not much luck on tournment day and hard when your competing against boats with 16 ft towers lol
  8. Haha so i manly bass fish most of everyone i know inshore fishes and i havnt did much of that. I live just north of jax well since i just got a little cc jon boat ive been doing a little bit of inshore fishing for reds and trout. All artifical. And have been doing pretty good. So my buddy decided to enter us in the ifa redfish tourn. Its this saturday, we will be the smallest boat, smallest motor, least experieced. Not my idea of first tournment to do. Winds are suppost to be 18 to 20 mph.250$ maybe we will luck up. Last week we caught four 26 1/2 inch reds. This should be fun, haha
  9. Yeah ive fished alot of that river from where it starts all the way to the ocean but mostly from about st george to scotts landing it gets really shallow in the summer months whwre a boat cant even go down it !
  10. Haha oh yeah its right behind the house and for being so small where im at (between hilliard and st george ) ive caught some nice bass. With one being 9 lbs!
  11. Yeah im not looking to use a crankbait because if its up to me thats the last thing i would want to use but just seeing people and tv shows fishing them areas with them and having way more luck than me with soft plastics lol but yeah let me know if you would just to have an idea of what to use thanks!
  12. Thanks for the info. I will have to get out there when its not as windy!! Ive seen in sante fe and seminole (only on bassmasters) along with st johns and lake george using cranks all the time out in the middle or off shore 200 yds sorry didnt mean palistine lol
  13. Thanks for the info. I will have to get out there when its not as windy!!
  14. Thanks, yeah where i live i fish all of that but when i see people out in deep water with crankbaits i just have no idea. I have a gps but im just more of a shallow structure and hittin banks with trees down and whatnot. Would love to get good at punching into thick grass but when the grass is everywhere what grass do you throw in. Guess i just gotta put the time in. Haha thanks!
  15. Okay so new to the forum i look at it alot but just now made an account. Recently purchesed a g3 17 ft gatortough cc. Perfect for the smaller lakes around north to centrel florida. Ive grown up fishing the st marys river and catch alot of fish out of it. But really wanted to get out and fish bigger water like st johns, lake george, kissimie, seminole, and even some smaller likes like palestine, orange lake, sante fe, but went to st johns around welatka and got on the water and was just out of my element, not a lake fisherman, didnt know where to even start. Could someone tell me some good starter lakes i should be giving a try and tactics to fishing them? Ive always justed fished a river. Small at that. Just tips for near my location would be helpful. Thanks and look foward to being on the forum
