  1. The summit is a good reel as I have 4 of the pflueger supremes. But I would go with the revo unless you want to shell out the extra 50 and get a Shimano Curado.
  2. If you arent sold on St. Croix I would go with a Falcon (Falcon Graphite Rods). I would also say go with the medium. If you are looking for an awesome reel for a reasonable price I would go with a Quantum Kinetic 20, which list for around 55 bucks. Another good one would be a Pflueger Trion which will list for around 35 bucks. Both of those are prices I saw at a Sportsmans Warehouse. I would suggest going a little cheaper on the reel and putting more money in the rod. At the end of the day it is the rod that is catching the fish. If you can save an extra 30 or so on the reel bump up from a St. Croix premiere to a Falcon Lowrider or Cara, or a G Loomis GL2 or GL3.
  3. Another side note if you are wanting a more versatile and easy to use Spike It set up, they make a set of Spike It markers. There are 5 or 6 different colors. They are not as messy and more precise.
  4. Spike It kicks *** in some situations. In one instance I was fishing a spring time tournament. We had found a few fish during our pre-fishing days, but nothing to put us in the money. One lure I always keep in my tacklebag is a little crappie tube skirt jig in the color of blue with a white skirt. No matter what the conditions I have always been able to catch bass on this bait. Now keep in mind the crappie jig doesnt produce big bass but it does produce quantity. It was the last half of the one day tourney and we only had one small keeper in the boat. I was digging through my tacklebag and remembered the crappie jigs. Then I remembered that I had some big 4" Gene Larew Tubes in a solid pearl white color. Luckily my partner had a jar of blue Spike It. So I dipped the front half of the tube in blue and we were culling fish within an hour. We hit the way in with a hefty sack and went home with $3500. So to make a long story short, yah, Spike It can be a life saver.
  5. I would have to say Stanley's Original Vibra Shaft Spinner Baits. They were the stuff. There are alot of decent replacements out there but none do compare.
  6. It is too hard for me to try to pick just one. I can narrow it down to 2. Culprit and Zoom. I love to fish Culprit 10" and 12" worms. I also love to fish Zoom lizards, ol' monsters, ultravibe speed craws, and baby brush hogs.
  7. I like to fish Yum Crawbugs or Baby Brush Hogs on them. I have also used lizards, chompers shaky worms, reaction innovations sweet beavers. There really is no limit to what you can fish on a spot remover. Just use your imagination and try to think of something that everybody else isnt doing.
  8. What is everybodys opinion?
  9. There is no set way to fish this bait. I have always fished it like I fish sammys. I walk the dog. If you have never fished a Lucky Craft Sammy that would be a good one to try also.
  10. I do not own but I have used this model. It is great. I do however own a berkley digital scale that I have owned for 5+ years and it is still going strong. I think you would be satisfied with this scale. If you are going to be fishing any tournaments I would also reccomend that you buy a good culling system with floating tags.
  11. I dont personally fish alot of Yum plastics. I will tell you that I soak any and every plastic I throw with Bang Garlic. It makes all of the difference in the world.
  12. If you want the best fishing sunglasses you can buy, buy some Natives. They have several different models ranging from about $100-$150. They are stylish like oakleys but designed for outdoor sports. Each pair comes with a case and 4 different sets of lenses(ranging from polarized amber to yellow or orange shooting lenses to clear). They also have an unconditional lifetime warranty. I love mine. Go to your local Sportsmans Wharehouse or get on the Native website and check them out.
  13. If your only needing to organize 10-40 packages of worms, I would buy a Falcon FTO 1170 speedbag. It is great because you just drop your packages into it and it keeps them all uprights and easy to look through. Pretty much like a filing cabinet for your worms. I use several of them and they are awesome. The 1170 is their bigger model but they do make smaller ones. Go to your local Sportsmans Wharehouse or get on Bass Pro.com and check them out.
  14. Has anybody heard when or if the Lucky Craft Pointer Real Skin jerkbaits are available yet?
  15. You can fish a baby brush hog several ways. It is my all time favorite soft plastic. In the spring I almost always start a day of fishing with a carolina rigged baby brush hog. This is a good way to cover alot of water quickly. Once I move into the summer months I will continue to carolina rig but will usually start with a Texas rigged bbh. Another fun way to fish them that not many people do is to rig them on a shaky head. It you need any other tips on bbh's just email me.
