  1. I have a noob question. I'm new to electronics so cut me so slack lol. I have the Garmin Striker 4 on my kayak. The transducer is mounted in the middle of the kayak. My question is once I pick up fish on the screen are they under me or behind me?? I read that once it appears on your screen they have already passed you. Just trying to get some idea in how to fish with this thing
  2. Would you all say this is still a good guide to go by for reels?? I realize its been 10yrs since it was posted.
  3. What type of rod do you prefer?
  4. Any opinion on what gear ratio the reel should be? I've read the faster the better for this setup. Is that true?
  5. I haven't looked at the Dobyns yet. Will definitely check it out. Thx
  6. Wanting to put together a flipping/putching spinning rod. Not wanting to break the bank though. What gear ratio and what size and action pole do you recommend? I have a st croix 7"6' med fast action and a gloomis 7" med fast laying around that i thought about using. For some reason i feel like i need more then that. Any opinions?? TIA.

Hey, I'm a newby to the site. I'm in middle Ga and mostly just fish the river and private ponds, hoping to get into the lakes and some inshore fishing this year. I have been reading alot on this site for the past few week getting information on a new rod for inshore fishing. After lots of reading I purchased the hurricane redbone mh. Now trying to find a reel to go with it.I figured since I stayed on this page all the I'd join and try to support it.
