  1. The dealer explained to me when I purchased the boat that the aerator may not pump water to the live well due to an air-locked pump. She recommended backing the boat up while in the water to force water into the pump in order to break the air-lock. This may have been the situation here.
  2. BPS issued a VIP # to me on the same day I purchased the boat. 6 days later the $400 gift card # was issued to me via email after I entered the hull # from the link in a "promotional" email. The later is the important part. It's easy to miss as this email doesn't say anything about applying for the gift card. This is the "promotional" email sent to me: Subject Promotional Incentive Notification Message body: Congratulations on your new TRACKER Boat! Your recent purchase has qualified you to receive special promotional offers. Please click the link below to register for your offers. From all of us at TRACKER Boats, we welcome you to the family. Sincerely, Your Friends at TRACKER Boats
  3. It's the hex nut attached to the Teleflex steering cable.
  4. You can adjust the steering tension. This suggestion came from Steve Clark over at the Tracker Heritage Owners Facebook group: "Back at your motor you will see a rod that slips through a large hex nut when you turn the steering wheel. Back that nut off a few threads and you will immediately notice the ease in steering." Here's a picture of the nut. It worked for me. Before it would take two hands to turn and after backing off the nut by 1/4 turn I can now steer with one hand on the wheel and the other on the throttle. Another steering adjustment you can make is the trim tab. Once you loosen up the steering you may notice turning left takes more effort than turning right (this was my case). By turning the trailing edge towards the easier side, the opposite side will be easier to turn. For me the trim tab was centered from the factory. I have adjusted it to be almost all the way to the right to make the force required to turn left and right to be about the same amount. Page 37 in the Mercury manual explains all of this.
  5. Congrats and I hope you have better luck with shipping time. For me Tracker Boats said the boat was shipped on March 10th. I just received a call from BPS this past Thursday the boat should be arriving early next week, about 10-1/2 weeks to ship!
  6. The only sure fix is to put them on a shelf in the garage. My thoughts exactly. I thought it was odd he was pitching the boat when you can no longer order one. And it's not like he shouldn't know, the video was posted on April 19th.
  7. Update: Called dealer again today. Dealer called back later to say there is some mixup and the next Heritage to arrive will be mine. So maybe in the next week or so I should have it. I guess the squeaky wheel does get the oil.
  8. Has anyone heard of Tracker Boats losing a customer's boat? I had ordered the Heritage boat on 2/16 and was given an estimated delivery date of June. I started to read posts of others who received their boat before the estimated delivery date. So about 4 weeks ago I called Tracker Boats to check on the status. The person said the boat had been shipped on March 10 with a typical ship time of 2-3 weeks. Thought this could be in error so I called a week later and was given the same info. Still no boat as of April 10th, so I called Tracker Boats again and the only info they had was the March 10th ship date, no info on if it made it to the dealer. I then turned around and called the dealer (BPS). I gave the salesman the ship date and other info, said I'll have to look into it. 5 hours later I get a call saying BPS hasn't received the boat (at this point it's been 4-1/2 weeks since the ship date) , maybe it will be on the next truck. So now it's been another week and still no boat. If I don't hear anything by this evening I'll send an email to the Manager asking exactly where is my boat. At this point Tracker has in their records the boat was shipped, so there won't be another one coming. And now the question is what happened to it once it was placed on the truck?
  9. I'm wondering if the installer couldn't find the right size nut and decided to add teflon tape to make it fit tighter. This would be odd because aren't these guides the same ones used for other boats? I've always used teflon tape to seal pipe or hose threads to keep air or water from leaking.
  10. The first link "30/40 FOURSTROKE_ 8M0118488R" should be the one you're looking for. It has fuel requirements and break-in instructions among many other things. When you receive your boat, a printed version of the manual should be included.
  11. I plan on taking the boat and cover down to the local canvas shop and have a motor cover added to the Dowco cover. This would then keep the water coming off the cover from draining into the boat.
  12. It's too bad Tracker Marine doesn't have an order inquiry web page. Until the Heritage came along there probably wasn't a need. I wonder if the dealers are getting tired of "When will my Heritage be in?" questions. As for me, I ordered on the afternoon of 2/16 and the salesperson told me an email was sent out that morning to inform all dealers from this date forward orders will not me fulfilled until June or later. I'll wait until early May before contacting BPS for the order status.
  13. Perhaps, but then the Pelican thread has been active for almost 8 years (110 pages) vs 3 months (30 pages) for this thread.
  14. Here are some links to download the outboard manual from Mercury's download center. The manual is for 2017. I haven't received the boat yet so I can't verify the 2017 manual is the same as for the 2018 model year. Perhaps those who now have the boat can verify if the online version is the same as the printed one. 15. I'd pass on the floor model. These are early production models, so they are more likely to have construction or design issues. Later production models would have any deficiencies found in the floor models corrected. Plus you don't know how many people have already picked, climbed over, and prodded the boat.
