  1. I leave next week for Traverse city, fishing with Tony DeFillipo next Sunday. Anybody got any Smallmouth updates for the inland lakes around Traverse city?
  2. Thanks bro, we're pumped, going first week of June. Can't wait to fish with Tony!
  3. Grand Traverse bay is the destination, we have Tony Defilippo (ex FLW pro) for a guide the first day. If anyone has any info on smaller lakes in the area, we're planning some sight fishing, will be down june 2 thru june 9. I'm told it's prespawn on Lake Michigan so we want some spawning bass in the nearby inland lakes. Thanks guys, can't wait to post pics.
  4. We are planning on booking Tony Defilippo our 2nd day there, he was recommended by Chris Niswonger who is booked up. Do you know if there are any Hotels near Acme? I know what I"ve read, but do you agree it may very well be spawn? And what are your favorite lures and colors? Spinning or baitcaster? floro, braid or mono? Well, you said ask questions, LOL. You can Email or facebook message if you'd like.
  5. We have decided our destination will be Grand Traverse Bay, MI. This is our first trip to the Traverse City area, if any of you gents would like to weigh in. Since it is so large, maybe some of you have favorite areas, boat ramps, smaller hotels away from the city. The week will be the first week of June, probably spawn I would think. Any information or tips would be greatly appreciated. We know there are other good lakes in the area in case of high winds. Lakes you can recommend would be great. Thanks all.
  6. We must just about be neighbors. I live in South County, and from the Arnold area.
  7. I agree, but you have to reach for the stars. My dad lived in So Cal for the last 35 years, fished around San Diego a lot, then up to Big Bear, and Dixon I think. So you would recommend these guys? Thanks much
  8. I was emailing with Babe Winkleman last week and he highly recommended Mille Lacs, my buddy is leaning toward St. Clair or Traverse Bay, I guess it's important there are smaller waters nearby to windy days.
  9. This is actually a plan we've talked about, do you live in this area? I assume Burt, Mullett and Torch are smaller in case of bad winds? Know any good guides in this area?
  10. For sure, a guide would be the ideal plan. Our boat is a 20'02 Triton with a 225 not huge but not small. What do you think of Sturgeon bay? Is a 20'02 triton terribly undersized for St. Clair? We don't know it, but have been told it can be dangerous with shallow water, I'm also concerned my first big trip up north, and I'm in Downtown Detroit for a view. LOL 7ish would be pretty awesome. But big numbers of really good fish would be hard to beat. Everything will be catch and release, unless we get into some walleye.
  11. From St. Louis MO. we are looking to come north for a week, seeking big smallie's, we are considering Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Top of the list are Lake Saint Clair, and Mille Lacs, we are bringing a bass boat and thinking about end of may or first of June. Any suggestions would be helpful, thanks so much.
