  1. I asked a similar question to this a couple weeks ago; however, I asked for primarily casting soft plastics on spinning reels. Most people said braid as the mainline then use a flouro leader. I am considering using 15lb PowerPro braid with 8' Yozuri Hybrid leader for my spinning reel setup. Is #12 Yo-Zuri Hybrid good on spinning gear? I use it for my baitcasters but haven't tried it for my spinning gear. Would it be better to use straight #12 YZ Hybrid or #15 PowerPro braid with 8' of #12 YZ Hybrid as a leader on my spinning reel?
  2. So, I correctly understanding this. You use three lines: first a mono backing, then Fireline, then a fluoro leader? Does there seem to be any problem breaking off due to the fact that you are depending upon three different knots?
  3. Thank you. I have seen that most people tend to gravitate towards 15lb braid for spinning gear. I think you are the first person that I have encountered that uses a mono-to-flouro leader. Thanks for the input.
  4. What # braid? Also, what # of leader? Thank you for your input.
  5. Hello, Recently, I purchased a Pflueger President 30 and I was wondering what line to use on it? Nearly 95% of my fishing with this reel will be soft plastics. I have done some research on this topic; however, I have yet to find a definite answer. Is it best to use straight braid, braid with a fluoro leader, or mono? So, I am wondering what line (brand) and poundage to use for this setup?
  6. Hello folks, I am looking for an inexpensive spinning combo for my fiancee (21) for overall use. While she does prefer having a purple or teal combo, she is open to other colors. She really likes the looks of the Pflueger Lady Trion combo (https://www.cabelas.com/product/PFLUEGER-LADY-TRION-SPIN-COMBO/1720833.uts), but I am worried that there are better options in that same price range for her. Also, can anybody vouch for the Lady GX2 (https://www.cabelas.com/product/SHAKESPEARE-UGLY-STIK-LADY-SPIN-COMBO/1706361.uts)? I am open to any suggestions. Thank you.
  7. Thank you for your reply. I just called a friend who deals with titling vehicles on a regular basis. He said that I could register it a couple of ways. Since my boat (jon boat) is technically a "non-motorized rowboat," Indiana does not require titling for such boat. Instead, the title that I have for the boat trailer will count for both, the trailer and the boat. After registering, I can add my outboard and trolling motor without problem. Also, he said that I can obtain a title as a "rebuilt" boat considering that I will be adding a trolling motor and outboard.
  8. Recently, I purchased an older 16' boat from a friend. The boat has been registered before but the previous owner did not have a title for the boat (only a bill of sale from 2010). In Indiana, not all boats had to be titled to be able to be on the water. Well, this has changed. On the original bill of sale, it just said "1968 Corl Boating Company) with a four digit identification number. I went to the BMV and they said that I must have a make and model to register the boat. So, I began to search around for the model of this boat online. Corl Boating Company was a local boating shop located in Indiana; however, they are now out of business. What should my next step be for titling this boat? Is there anything that I missed or potential documents to look at to find this information. Thank you.
  9. This is a great rundown. Snap a picture of this and you are golden.
  10. Thank you for the feedback. I think that I am open to other recommendations on rods but Pflueger President is a must buy. I have read around and many seem to like the YZ Ultrasoft for spinning reels. Maybe, I should look at braid instead. Anybody else have a preference of line on spinning reels for overall use?
  11. I am looking for a inexpensive spinning rod and reel combo for roughly $80. I have two MHF baitcasters, but I am looking for a spinning combo for bank fishing. Ideally, I would like this combo to be able to do it all but primarily soft plastics. Currently, I am thinking about pairing a Pflueger President with a 6'6" Berkley Lightning. Also, I plan on spooling the reel with Yo-Zuri 6# Ultrasoft. Do you guys think this would be a good idea or should I look elsewhere? Feel free to recommend any combo and/or line, too. Thank you.
  12. A good deal indeed. I'm just now getting to the point where I have sightly too much soft plastics. However, I'm always looking for deals on hard baits. Also, I think that you are extremely generous giving to others. In other news, I completely agree with you when you say that many people on this website have been generous with information. I just joined but I have used this website for information for years.
  13. It's always a good day when you pay $55.50 for all this (29 items) Thankful for the Walmart clearance section.
  14. I have yet to fish with my Revo yet, but I really like casting it. I opted for the 6.4:1 instead of the 7.4:1, but I enjoy the reel. Hopefully I can start fishing in like 5 weeks and report back.
  15. Over this past winter, I have bought a Abu Veritas 7' MH and Abu REVO3 SX. Also, I purchased a Duckett Ghost 7' MH with a Carrot Stix CCA2002-C2 for $50!! Aside from rod and reel, I stocked up on soft plastics (mostly Havoc and Zoom). However, my local Walmart has clearanced a large amount of Rapala lures and topwater lures, so I plan on returning to get more soon.
