  1. This Heritage will be my first boat, and can't wait to get it! I've fished with friends for years, and have often backed up their boat trailers; however, I have never trailered a boat from the water. Count me as a novice when it comes to boating. So....I am taking a Boater Education class this Saturday 2/17. The class is put on by the LA State Department of Wildlife and Fisheries and is a free service. In addition to learning the valuable dos and don't of being on the water, the completion of this course will lower my boat insurance premium! I already spoke with my insurance rep about it. Following is a brief description of the class from the LDWF website...my guess is all states would have something like this..... "The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries offers a free boating course that lasts between 6 and 8 hours. Participants usually complete the course in one day. The course includes information on choosing a boat, classification, hulls, motors, legal and equipment requirements, navigation rules, navigation charts, trailering, sailboats, and related subjects that include canoeing, personal watercraft and more. Participants who complete the course will receive a Boater Education Card. View of copy of Louisiana's Boater Education Handbook online." There is also a free online course that my insurance will accept......again, from the LDWF website FAQ..... "How do I register for an approved online course?" "If a classroom course is not convenient for you, you may take an LDWF-approved online boating course provided by BoatUS.org or Boat-Ed.com. LDWF does not administer these courses but has approved them to satisfy boating education requirements. The BoatUS.org course is free; there is a fee for the Boat-Ed.com course. Upon successful completion of either course, you will receive a temporary Boater Education Certificate from the website. You will be issued a permanent Boater Education Card approximately three to four weeks later. For more information, visit www.boatus.org or www.boat-ed.com." Happy Boating/Fishing and Best Wishes To All!

  3. No luck searching for Tracker Heritage Group on facebook. Any suggestions? Thanks!
  4. Well deserved Chris! Enjoy your time on the water!
  5. Congratulations Ratman! Send out a pic of that classic looking beauty when you get it. It may help us all feel closer to getting ours ?
  6. Very good. What dictates the # of banks you should get....one bank for each battery...so a two bank charger for the Heritage? Thanks for info!
  7. Does anyone have any thoughts, experiences, info on an onboard battery charger vs normal charger? Is onboard simply convenient, or are there other advantage(s)? Thanks!
  8. Congratulations ! Those sound like nice upgrades ?
  9. Not from BPS. Ordered boat, spare, and ss prop from Boat City. Sales person so helpful, and told me the spare would be a matching moon capped white rim wheel. Also my new resource for sac-a-lait hot spots!
  10. On 1/23/18, after calling the Heritage reservation phone number, I discovered a local smaller dealer in Henderson, LA that had three of the Heritage boats on order..two were spoken for, and with a small deposit, I was fortunate to get the third!! I added a matching spare tire (with moon cap and trailer bracket) for $225, and a $350 stainless steel prop (the Heritage comes with an aluminum prop). A few days earlier, I came upon this sweet rig at a BPS in Denham Springs, LA....which is roughly 65 miles from my Lafayette, LA home. Wasn't boat shopping....just visiting the store with a friend, but was smitten with this retro classic as soon as I saw it! Like everyone else, I was also amazed with the $ deal being offered. That BPS had 10 ordered at the time. I grew up with a love for fishing, and have always day dreamed of owning a fishing boat. With two children , I couldn't stop thinking about the good times we could have here on the waters of South Louisiana! I've really enjoyed reading this forum. Thank you all for your fun and informative posts. I am thrilled that my family will be one of the 600 to 2,500, or ? Heritage owners. FYI - after reading about demand and production issues, I decided to reach out to my dealer this week.....according to them, the original mid to late February delivery time is still good. Happy Mardi Gras and Happy Fishing!
