Fist bump to another guy hauling his canoe on top of a Ford Focus wagon! I have a 14.5' Old Town that I haul on top of my Focus with a Malone roof rack with the canoe kit. i had to switch up how the canoe kit is attached just a little bit, but that thing is rock solid. I can get the canoe up and down by myself with no problems, but now that my oldest son, who usually goes with me, is 13 and putting on a little muscle and height, it's all the easier. I cant pull mine into the garage with the canoe on top, though. I'm jealous of that!

At the risk of further contributing to the redundancy in this thread, I also switched from green to hi-vis yellow. Makes a huge difference to me and I will never go back. Might try pink at some point, but I'm in no hurry because the yellow works so well for me.

I made it in on Saturday with the intent to pick up some soft plastics and maybe some of the Booyah spinnerbaits. I had no intention of picking up a new rod and reel. Ended up leaving with the baits and one of the Carbonlite combos. Just seemed too good to pass up. The selection on the combos was somewhat limited, but I did end up with a 7.5:1 reel on a 6.5' MH/F. I wanted a 7', but they had sold out of those in the right hand retrieve. Not a deal breaker. Honestly, outside of the Carbonlite combo, and maybe the spinnerbaits, I was not terribly impressed with the rest of the sale. I may go back to take advantage of the line sale once I decide what I want to spool the new reel up with.
