Congratulations and welcome! Umm, just what you are comfortable on, you will learn this. I would start on a smaller lake or one that you know. The more you go out, the more conditions you will see and experience will build your confidence or determine what water is good for you. Wind and weather can make just about any place crazy. I have been on some good deep lakes with depths over 150 feed. The water can be crazy there, especially when other boaters are making waves. I live in the San Francisco Bay area. I would never take this thing out to the bay or any thing where ships go, lol. That's just me, some are bolder. You have to slow it down when it is choppy and has small white caps, at least I do. This boat will slap and bounce around with any kind of wave. Good luck!

I hope going back to Bass pro shops wasn't too far out of your way for their mistake... glad it worked out in the end. I still don't have a spare tire kit... I bought a plug kit in case I had an accident... Come to think about it I haven't put it in a new truck LOL. I will be up the road without a tire if I don't get this fixed

My boat only goes 33mph, lol. I am sure if I had a faster boat, I would driver faster, but I usually go about 25... I love fact cars always had at least one sports car and still do. I drive over 100 just about daily. Water and roads are two different beasts. Some boats and cars are capable of handling the conditions better than others... driving, my biggest factor is other drivers and the fact that they are unpredictable. On a boat, the issue is the water. You do not not know what is below the surface. Water and wind is also an issue together. I try to respect others and make sure that they're not grabbing that oh'**** or Jesus bar. it's always easier for the driver because Darren control and holding on to something where is a passenger doesn't have that luxury. Secondly is just dangerous. so no matter how many times you get away, Ariel's at one time which is all it takes. I finished the tournament and blast off is important get to your spot... But there's always other spots. Milo 35 miles an hour boat got me to a spot that I won't it where is everyone else they're bigger boat tours and even farther away. I did have to plan to get back to the dock, but we got back. What's important things always be safe I fish and drive my boat at night a lot. Electronics really help with that because I will follow my saying Pat back just to make sure. Fishing places in like a river or the California delta can be tricky... Stuff comes with a tie and it's how he lowers and rises. I seen some people hauling ass, which I think was extremely foolish. The stuff I've seen and avoid it just do it to the conditions changing are crazy. The water is just too unpredictable.

I don't find a flexible cooler hard to clean more so than getting one that a fish can't puncher. One puncher, then the insulation gets nasty and you can't clean that. I use a fish basket and then put the fish in the cooler when I get back. Yes... I havw come back wet and nasty sometimes because I kept a basket of fish or a stringer full of catfish on my legs as I paddled back.

Ok, so I filed and painted the skeg a few days ago. It's a horrible paint job, but the metal is sealed an protected again. I never found the cooler... I think someone stopped and took it home.

eye glass cleaner or just a microfiber cloth and a little water. I mean, it is usully just water that get these dirty. I love alcohol, but I would stay away from it on these screens. The screens may have some coating on them that the alcohol could remove.

Never had issues with my striker plus cv. Make is sure your power is connected. If you just crimped the cable, it make not be a good crimp. I like to solder or solder quick connects on the wire. make sure the transducer is level and in the water. We need to more details to help.

No it is not needed. I have it all for content for my YouTube channel, to be competitive since I plan to do more tournaments, and just because I had the opportunity to splurge. Personally, while I have had fun with the livescope, I have also wasted/invested a lot of time into it. At the end if the day, I do well with traditional sonar. Down imaging and side are good for scouting but we're not game changers for me. They give me just a little information and I am not dazzled by the pretty things I see. Traditional shows me fish and I start there. Livescope shows me active fish and distinguishes fish species pretty dang good.

Well... I did have a good evening of fishing but a couple of things happened before I got to the lake. First, I noticed my skeg on the boat was damaged. I do not know how it happened... I saw it when I went to unplug the boat battery. All I can. Think is one boat ramp that is really shallow, but I usually have my motor trimmed. I plan to file it smooth and then paint it. I saw a spec of oranges. So I think it is a steel alloy. Secondly... I decided to put my cooler in the boat... Something told me to put it in the truck, but I didn't listen. When I got to the gas station, my cooler was gone!!! The dang trailer is so bouncy. I just hope it didn't cause an accident. I went back that night to find it and I did not find it... So I got to the lake really sad, besting up myself... Then I caught some nice crappie ??

That's a largemouth all day long. The lower jaw extends past the eye, enough said. Largemouth colors vary by water. Now... could there by a hybrid? I will not argue that, but it is waay more largemouth than not.

I will echo this. Adding that I am find with the down and side image returns from Garmin. I don't use side much up front, but I have the option with no sacrifice... So why others don't make it easy I am not sure of... Maybe with Minnkota, they know some may opt for the motor with imaging built in. Side is helpful when you are running the boat from the front...

Well... I personal opinion is like most electronics outside of traditional, they are nice but not necessary. Livescope is the very best thing I have used to let me know what is truely Below the boat. As long as your Garmin unit has a transducer model nber starting with GT... You will.be fine. Most of the Garmin flack was due to them being sued by lowrance and their down imaging solution... The clearvu with CV... Down imaging was not as good to some people. Now that the smoke has cleared, Garmin is doing the down imaging the same as others. If there is any remote interest in Livescope, you need to go with Garmin. You can see lowrance's livesight, but it is looking like Garmin's all seeing sonar, and not livescop and the mount is not as versatile. It's is also a great time. Garmin and lowrance is coming out with their own trolling motors. Go to a few stores and touch and play. the images below are from my UHD GT transducers. That is side and down of an area I was trying out.

Have Garmin on my console and bow, networked. Both are Garmin echomap plus 93sv. I used to have the echo chirp 7sv and the plus. The down and side imaging work fine for me. I did add the UHD transducer on the transom which gives me high resolution down and side fro.m the back. So that helps with scouting. On the bow I now pretty much use livescope and traditional exclusively. I have used electronics for years and all have been Garmin. I bought a new lowrance ti and echomapto upgrade my bow unit to test... I ended up returning the lowrance and upgraded all of my Garmin units to my current setup. Expensive, but I am happy. Garmin units make since and I never thought touchscreen would help, but it's nice. The new ultra units are nice. They network out if the box and the livescope can be addyfor $500 more. Like I said, you can network for less if you want to go the DIY route. I can help with that. I make my own cables as well, which I have boxes of sheilded cable.

I didn't same... I drove about 30 miles and when I stopped for gas I saw it. Thankfully, it never touched the ground or was damaged.

Add one? I am not sure. I am running two 93sv units, networked with the UHD package. I originally created my own network hub for a bout $30 which worked very well. If you buy the new echo map ultra units, you can use the $500 livescope transducer without the black box. That unit will also network with other echomap units and share the livescope. I run run my unit on the trolling motor. It works well. I find fish, then anchor. That way I can use my livescope and not worry about drifting. I can position my livescope in a way that a person fishing on the back can see my console unit and get on the action as well.

Screensize is important... I have a couple 9" for my side usage... But I wish the resolution was higher and just expanded. The better the resolution, shoot, the screen size would not matter as much.

Me too. I was hinted in March when I talked to Garmin... I was telling them how they need to get a trolling motor out because diehard Garmin users have the least options. I was told to wait...

I catch trout when I am bass fishing. I have caught them on ned rigs, crankbaits and spinners. Thanks @WRB for the information. I have never targeted trout, but I is nice to have a few hints to distinguish them from other fish.
