  1. Yeah... I have been thinking of buying none for a couple years now. Thing is, I only want it to fish when I am visiting in Arkansas... Not a good option for me in CA. I am in Arkansas a 2 or so months out of the year and have a couple kayaks there for fishing. The twin troller would be perfect for some back water and small water action. Hard to tip and you you can take a person out with you. I don't know if two people bass fishing is easy... But multi-species and panfishing would be fun.
  2. Ok... Finished with another wave of modifications. Today I installed my battery switch that powers everything on, off, or combines both house and starting battery for emergency needs. I installed an automatic charging relay that will charge my house battery from the alternator once the starting battery is sufficient. Since I am running out of space with 4 batteries, two charges, tank, and spare gas can... I used an ammo box to host/house the switch and relay. All positive connections are in the box and the grounds are on top. I have an off switch on the side for the ACR. This way, it will not drain power just from being installed... It is constantly running, so switch was good. Finally it has ignition isolation, so I ran another wire from my key's ignition wire to the ACR. Not a cheap upgrade and time consuming... I had to terminate each battery cable so I purchase a crimper for heavy gauge wire. The terminals cost more than I wanted... And so did the wire. Overall, I am happy that I am in a position to more efficiently manage my battery power. I am going on a. Road trip Ina. Few weeks with the boat and will be hitting a few states. This will help me out. Overall goal is to not get stuck on the water or sink, lol! Video of the install to come.
  3. It is not Automatic. It just installed an automatic switch to mine. Video will be up next week. The switch comes on when the switch is off. The switch on the console still works to manually turn it on. I am just finishing up the automatic charging relay and switch for my new battery. This will charge my starter battery and .y new house battery.
  4. Will check my boot too. Had the cover off looking over things and didn't see anything off, but will not check this more. I really need a motor with spot lock...
  5. Yeah... I just want to help anyone out who might be on a position like was... Running find, then the engine cuts out. My engine thinks that I just don't give it enough gas. But this tank is giving me two issues that has cause the engine to run empty.
  6. I can. I pretty much do that every day that it's parked in my driveway. Thing is, the tank holds the shape of the deformity. So I have to take it out and push it in. Still it's so deformed and round, it does not sit flat. I know EPA and California (carb) keeps it from venting... I have thought about just opening the cap and leaving it that way in storage. I don't want to do that. I am looking for a new tank today.
  7. More tips for the tank if you find yourself broken-down on the water. The first year the take-up hose fell off in the tank... Broke down on the lake a few time until I figured out there was no hose clamp on it. Now, the tank is expanding so much until the take line is angled to the point when fuel gets low, like a little below half, it will not suck in fuel... Broke down going as fast as I could. I had to pull the tank out to release pressure and press the deformities out. For both issues, if in a jam, just tilt your tank up to the point it can get fuel in the line
  8. My starter Battery is going bad... I was stuck again, but thankfully I had my jump starter. Either going to get a new starter (hybrid) battery or get a second battery and charger for the house only. Thinking about putting a switch on it to make emergency changes or to charge both from alternator.
  9. No one was hurt. Pride yes. It was not a video of tragedy. I don't care who you are, you're a boat owner you've done something dumb at the ramp or just head bad luck. This does not excuse any of us. I know I backed in without my plug and thankfully I tied to the short at day before parking the truck... Usually I leave it tied out b deeper water. these videos always teach me something, that you never know. They're plenty of videos and shows where the ramps are to mossey and no matter what you do, four-wheel-drive, you slip right in. if you read that Twitter comments, that's really where the humor comes from. The people who record this video said there was a whole lot of drama before this happened. Take. All the context. Now if anyting, many people like to get upset with people at the ramp. Most people just watch out of frustration as others who can't back their boat up or do other things that inconvenience us. Same as in the gym. Differencewith me anytime I've ever been at that ramp and I see someone in trouble or looks like they need help, I always step in. Some people are too prideful and they always say no, but many appreciate someone stepping in rather than sitting back talking and being upset. Humor is always hindsight, again there was no tragedy. I know I can laugh at myself and I have plenty of video with me where I'm laughing at myself as well as other people are in the comments. Can always learn a lesson, and the best experience always have something funny. Even these guys may one day laugh about this... Always good to smile that you still have your little Ife despite the situation, by the grace of God of course.
  10. If you have not see it yet. Pretty funny! https://mobile.twitter.com/henningfarms/status/1246995277871026176?s=09
  11. Electronics are fine to be wet. You have to let them 100% dry before using to use them beforehand risk the chance of frying and making our parable damage. I would send them Garmin. They have solid customer service. I have used them and that makes me continue to buy from them.
  12. Check this out... https://www.instagram.com/p/B9phD-pg5LF/?igshid=gpmfpn9n6gla You also get the cables made to your length for much less with the same quality. Shielded, grounded, cat7, network cable.
  13. Yes it has... Have not lost any since the first one. The silicone is removable when you need to service the hubs. I do not think about my hubs... I just saw them the other day when I was cleaning the boat. I like them and I never think about losing them. I swing my boat around mountain roads without care
  14. I did think about that, but not sure if I want to just yet. But I have thought about it. If I can sources another console in case I want to go back, I will chop mine up for sure. Can really make it right then. I will make the old dry storage. Thing is the deck storage that is already there. If I put my batteries there, I need a way to get to it. But with the livewell we have .. the main issue for me is length. It needs to be longer
  15. Here is the thing...I always take a portable lithium jump starter with with... Left it at home. I was going to use the rope to start the engine, but I didn't have any tools with me to get the stupid cover off... Why is that cover bolted down?! It was really a time for all to go wrong... I took my tools and the jumper out of my truck the previous day when I was working at the church... Didn't out anything back and would have had them as I take them with me on the boat. Today, I bought a kit just for the boat. Not going to happen again.
  16. I killed my starter battery yesterday. Had to go back two miles plus on the trolling motor. I was on it all day and it still got me home. Minnkota Maxum 65lbs https://www.instagram.com/p/B98b3ysAaKs/?igshid=3l6hcnh0a3k5
  17. Upgraded my trailer jack. $50 at bass pro. 1000 lbs and galvanized. Mine was getting wobbly.
  18. Will do. Finally finished working on my network hub and actually purchased some wood for my deck. I need to puchaed the aluminum for the frame... Very soon :)
  19. I have.. but Dick's is too "woke". Personally, my stores knows me. The staff has been keeping me informed bas I am getting deals. Before this, they were good to me. I supported Dick's because they had what I needed. They and Walmart are dumping all of us sportsmen with the criminals... So, I have started to buy from local stores who need the money more than the big dogs. Because of this, the other stores in the area sportsman's Warehouse being right across the street, is taking their business in the category. It was not profitable for them because of their own doing. I don't care to consider companies that do not consider me. I am a law abiding citizen. I speak with my money.
  20. I used a zip tie to keep it down. Only because iIput a tray and cup holder on the top-front of the unit. Now I can keep my lures, phone, beverage, etc up there.
  21. Mine is getting rid of hunting and fishing right now. No reason for me to go there now. Screw them.
  22. That's what I installed. Very nice tray.
  23. Unfortunately, not my dog... Neighbors dog When I extend the deck, I am making a locker. I will cut the whole section open where the rod tubs are to make a rod box. That's my plan. I would love to actually keep my long rods on the boat without worry. I think I will make the rod locker first... Still trying to decide how my extended deck will function... I like the idea for more storage, but I want to make a new livewell… I have the plumbing figured out, but not the size of cooler or if I want to make one out of something else...
  24. That's what I use. That's a good price too! I paid $20. I screwed mine using the screws tracker had the cheap transducer installed with. The rest was glue. Check out the link and scroll through pics to the side with holes in it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00I53APTK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_zd3mEb160W7S3 I carved out hols in mine, I then made small drill holes going at an angel from inside the holes. The thing is most glues will not stick to that stuff. But glue will hold it's shape. Rather than have flat glue between boat and board, I gave the glue something to grip inside the board. After all dries, you can mount anywhere on the board. Even where you have lots glue. The screws will grip just the same
