  1. We have used our Bimini Top on a few occasions. We usually use it when we are not fishing and resting. I have used it fishing and never hooked up any lure or had issues with it. I am pretty aware of my casting, but I know it differs for others. It worked great for just catfish fishing. When it up, people can fish from the bow or rear deck as long as they are aware. Mine is really not in the way when it is folded down. I fish off of the rear deck all of the time and no issues with it being in the way. It is more in the way with the rails folded down... People want to use them to get it or hold on to. Stepping up to the bow is easy enough, but the rear deck there is some issue... I am just over 5"10"... you being taller may have issue. They have taller ones, but it will change your installation points and such. For me, it has paid for itself. It was $150 plus about 30 minutes of time. I can take it off when I need to, but I have yet to do so. It fits well on the boat even with the cover on it. I installed this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ITIB590/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Color: Light grey | Size: 6'L x 46"H x 73"-78"W | Thanks for the update... I really hope that is not the issue. I have not run my motor since. I need to get it to the shop. I've been in my float tube the this past week.
  2. I store my boat cover in the Bass Pro Shop Engine Cover when they are not being used.
  3. Thanks. Yeah, I always wear my PFD. Last thing I need to be is in the middle of a lake with all of my gear pulling me down. I wear a fishing vest over my PFDs, so of I am in the boat, kayak, float tube or shore, I have my same termoal tackle. The float tube is like a easy chair and easily one of my favorite ways to fish. I started with w round one and I have been moving up every since then. You are right, you have to work a spot, but the fish never mind me being there. I can tread the water and not worry about an anchor or the wind. I can go fishing right after work and I usually fish past sun down in my tube. Thanks for watching. I try to help others because I have learned so much from others.
  4. Okay I returned the other light to Bass Pro Shops. Until I get the replacement in, I went ahead and put some red tail light tape on it. Looks a little cheap, but it gets the job done. Better than riding with a broken tail light and when I hit my brakes people see red and yellow lights.
  5. My dealer order my replacement under warranty. The package that they came in and the invoice said $13.95 each. That's funny you said "them old guys sure seem to like those hubcaps". While I do not care too much for them and they do not add anything to my fishing, it's nice to have them on there. They are supposed to be apart of the packaging so much that it was a "special feature". I am happy to have them back on and I hope the silicon works. No one can tell it's there and it is easy to remove/replace when it is time to pack the hubs. BTW, since I was running. Without hubs, I noticed grease trails from the hub to the rims. Nothing greasy, just black stream marks. I cleaned my wheels and hub with a littlw accetone before gluing them down.
  6. I will get those. So I finally picked up my steering wheel cap and hubcaps from the dealer. I use silicon to stick the steering wheel cap on the steering wheel. And yes, if you see my videos I originally decided not to use my hubcaps do to them falling off. As you can see from photos, how caps are back on my trailer. I used a lot of clear silicon around the hubcaps and I finished it all inside and around it. My Hope Is that the silicone will hold the hub caps as well as absorb any vibrations at could make it loose. I'm happy to have the cap capsule back on because it just goes with the design of the boat looks good. Now I just need to order the new light and replace it.
  7. Yeah, I will return them. I will check out harbor freight when I go for a walk this morning. I Yeah, I really do. I don't want to have to seal these and then have to change bulbs all the time because these will go out. Hopefully my HF will have light I need so I can make this thin pretty again
  8. So... I think I told you all a little over a month ago, I left a box of recyclable items on the corner of my driveway. I forgot they were there when I was backing my boat up and busted the tail light... I went to bass pro yesterday and purchased a replacement, at least I thought it was. The one that comes on the boat is a sealed LED. The one that BPS has is two bulbs is not sealed. I have not asked the dealer to order one yet or been able to find the model online. There is also a slight design difference. I was originally hoping to just replace the cover, but you cant do that. I will probably just seal the lights and use the new one. Secondly, my lovely wife decided to take me fishing on labor day at her favorite place. Thing is it was low, full of weeds, and no motor over 10HP was allowed to be used. We had to troll the whole thing. Today, I replaced it with the MKP-6 weedless prop. When I removed the prop, the pin was broken and rusty. I am happy I found it today and not while I was fishing. I already had a couple replacement pins. With all of that, I found something I am thinking about buying... The minnkota engine mount. This way, I can fish in places that are electric only and control it from the console. https://minnkotamotors.johnsonoutdoors.com/freshwater-trolling-motors/engine-mount I have not spec'd it out and it is kinda overkill.. but it is interesting.
  9. No. I haven't had the time drop it off. I was hoping to get the boat to them before my surgery, but it didn't happen. I will be seeing them next week.
  10. I bet it does I am thinking of my next big upgrade, just cant happen right now. I have to really use what I have and let it work.
  11. Yeah, when I lost mine the first time, I fished it out of the lake. I haven't put mine back on since they have been replaced. I have yet to mount mine. When I went to the dealer for warranty work on the carpet. I told them to just cut the hole for the recess box and install one. I would pay for it all just to have the warranty... They said okay, but came back and said that they couldn't do it. Since my back has been iffy and I am recovering now, it is hard on my right leg to man the trolling motor. I like mine loose because I switch legs and the positioning is different for my wife. Its messy, but it works. I almost upgraded to one with ipilot, but I love the drive by cable. The cable is very responsive where as digital might not get me out of a potential jam as fast. Finally, on another subject, I am replacing the prop with a weedless one. The MKP-6 fits the edge 45lbs trust.
  12. Well I have had a bad couple outings... Yesterday the worst. I launch and was speeding on down the lake... Then it choked and cut out. I primed as it ball was not hard at all. I started it back up. Of course it died again. We did the cat and mouse with me now blown on a sandbar. The primer bass was just catching air. I had plenty of gas, but I filled it up with my reserve can anyhow. I took the hose apart, check everything as best I could Everything seemed legit. Finally I just laid down to think about siphoning gas and such. I noticed the "Fuel Demand Valve" http://www.attwoodmarine.com/store/product/portable-fuel/fuel-demand-valve I had it on top of the can so it would have plenty of line and not disconnect from some bump/jolt. I put it back on the side of the can where it was on the floor and against the wall. I pumped the ball and it started getting firm... The boat cranked up and it ran great.... Then it died again... I jumped back their and pumped the ball, it was semi firm, but quickly got normal. It didn't break down again. This was the second day this happening. The first day, it did it but I t remedied and we fished. Yesterday... I was out there for an hour before I got to fish... I also noticed some hydraulic oil on the steering arm, or whatever it is that moves the motor. the cap was loose. I will be taking her to the shop in august when I go in for back surgery... Finally... When I got home after catching nothing but the blues from hell, I broke my trailer tail light when backing up the driveway. I had a box on the corner of the house with a grill lid on it that I was supposed to take to the dump... When it was all my fault. I mean, man... everything was against me this weekend. Any tips on the gas line thing?
  13. I have the same. Those are your depth contours. I use this when planning to go to a new part of the lake. Lakes that have maps, might also have the contours. I don't... No real plans to use it either. Known about it for quite some time.
  14. I get about 33-35 mph max. Mostly when I am going to another spot, I will go 29-30 mph with no effort. To the max, I found the right trim. Its all about the conditions as well.
  15. 303 for $6 or less. 303 (30313-CSR) UV Protectant Spray for Vinyl, Plastic, Rubber, Fiberglass, Leather & More – Dust and Dirt Repellant - Non-Toxic, Matte Finish, 32 Fl. oz. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KN0UOEE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_dbKsBb4F8V8A2
  16. Gulp... I wil be having back surgery soon and will not be able to fish. I am trying to get as much in as I can. I keep my boat hook right beside the drivers seat. I use it every now and then when docking. I pretty much fish with the dog only, so its handy. I will have to look at getting some padding for the boat. I will soon post a vid on cleaning/polishing the boat... I highly recommend using power tools, lol.
  17. Yeah, I am still waiting for a response on my carpet... Do you have any pictures of your issues? 100% RIGHT! That is awesome picture, I just about want to hang it on my garage wall, LOL!. I have not regreted this boat and I still believe it was a great value. I look at pricier boats and ooh and ahh, but the heritage is the boat that made me buy a boat. I just polished mine up and man is it shiney. It is so easy to trailer and it just plain works. I think that is what I will say everytime someone asks me.
  18. Yeah, I usually use great or red light. I can swap it out any time as I have move of those pods in green and red.
  19. My second project was to add spotlights to the boat. Once again, I was still not comfortable selecting a location to spermanently add lights until I was sure of location and necessity. My solution is not entirely original, but for me it was very inexpensive. The navigation lights are upgraded and work the same turn on/off the same way as stock. I still have the courtesy light, but mine is so much brighter. It powers on independently using a button on the unit. Last but no way least are the spotlights. They are 36watts combined. They power on independently using a button on the unit. They also power on and off using a wireless remote. this way if I'm on the steering wheel and I put the switch for navigation I can still turn the headlights on without having to go to the deck and pressing the button. This solution allows me to have all I want and need without haveing to run wires.
  20. Hey gang. Here is are a couple of just completed projects. First up is my portable work light / fishing light. When I fish at night, I my eye usually adjust well enough, but I wanted something to light sides up that was portable and not installed. This unit is can be is anywhere.
  21. I wish I would have know this, but hopefully it will help some of you all now and all of us in the future. When you use a gift card at Bass Pro, you will NOT receive any points for your purchase. Thing is, you do get points for buying a gift card. This is true for partial purchases. So the trick, as told to me by a Bass Pro Rep, is to buy another gift card first. So you have $25 gift card. Your purchase is $50, buy another $25 gift card. This way you will get the points for what you would be paying in cash. Substitute any values you can. This might even work for double/triple point days when you are not even buying anything. Get the points and buy a gift card... You will eventually use it Another thing, MAKE SURE YOUR VIP CARD WORKS! I had to go to Bass pro to get all of my savings back on one major purchase. Don't leave money on the table. I just received my $25 minnkota rebate yesterday.... That was so fast. Kinda off topic, but I just purchased some new tires and I got the $200 rebate back yesterday... Less than 4 weeks. What to buy now?!
  22. Jmckinly, That would be awesome man. I was driving on 12 Saturday and I was sure thinking about fishing in the delta. I have not fished there in years. I have never taken my kayak out there either. I know frogs are king out there this time of year. It would be nice to have a pro show me around. I could fish the delta just as fast as I get to Berryessa. I need to start going out there. Any tips on tide, using my boat in the brackish water, etc. I have maps and gps so I wont get lost... hopefully. I use to fish around bacon island and whiskey slough as well as some places in Rio Vista. They day we go out, lunch or dinner is on me! Yeah, I hate being away from my boat, but I will get it all fixed while I can. Gone Fishin in Dixon has my new hubcaps and steering wheel caps on order and will fix the carpet when tracker tells them how the carpet is layed down.
  23. Mine started off sticking back down, now it's just up. We are planning to just add more glue with a needle to avoid raising the carpet.
