  1. The solix gen 3s will be 4 years old this october. So they are due for an update which would make sense the new FFS would drive the hardware requirements.
  2. Was anyone one else disappointed in the lack of HB release at iCast24? Megalive was onsale 33% off this spring, which made me think something new was in the works. What do you think that sale was all about? Was there a hardware update and they were trying to clear out the old stock?
  3. I have a small AGM for cranking, and plan on using 1 battery for house and 2 for trolling motor.
  4. Thanks for all the feedback. I do like the idea of buying them from a person but budget is a factor. I ended up going with three LiTime minis. They were the lightest that i saw at 100AH. 19lbs, so even with 3 batteries its still half the weight of the 2 AGMs that just died on me. So at half the cost of an ionic brand and 5 lbs lighter i think its worth the gamble.
  5. I'm in the middle of a boat rebuild and my AGMs need to be replaced. So I'm looking for some feedback on these Lithium LifePo on amazon. I bet all these are built in china in the same factory, so i don't know if its worth buying more expensive batteries. Has anyone tried the LiPuls brand they are pretty cheap, they have a 3 pack for $680 and only weigh 20lbs each. They also have LiTime minis that weigh 19lbs but are $920 for a 3 pack
  6. Don't be shocked if most people aren't willing to give up their spots. Check out Pontiac Lake, there is a public launch on the east side. I've had some good days out there last year. The weeds choke out large parts of that lake so I bet it's better in the spring. I've always been underwhelmed by Orchard lake, it's the closest public launch to my house. I think there is potential there, but I haven't figured it out yet. Seems like most people don't fish that lake.
  7. Thanks Ajay, Ive seen this map, and its not accurate. The channel is pretty close to shore by jacks landing. What i want to do now is make a ipilot track on the channel from fletchers landind all the way to the dam. And just really want to know if anyone has found the missing sections. I only get to fish this lake 4 or 5 days a year and dont want to waste time mapping those sections looking for a channel that isnt there.
  8. Does anyone have a good map of the river channel for fletchers pond? You can see it with satellite picutures and it looks like its not continuous and is broken up into 4 or 5 sections. But I'm not sure if that is because the picture is blurry in that section. Does anyone have the missing sections? Has anyone used the autochart live to find the missing sections? Maybe the bottom hardness layer can pick it up. That lake is weird and when you are on the water its hard to tell where the river is, especially when the wind is blowing and your trying to maneuver the stumps and logs. Having the river marked out should make a difference, it feels like half that lake is dead water and then you stumble upon a pocket of fish.
  9. Check out fletcher's landing on fletcher pond. You can rent boats and cabins right on the water. The lake is a flooded cedar forest so there is a ton of timber. So renting a boat is a plus because the lake takes a toll on your rig. Most of the shoreline is hunting club land so its just forest. It is hard to find a more scenic lake. Fishing is good but can be tough at times because of the wind. The lake does get some fishing pressure, so you should try to give them a little bit of a different look than just normal traditional tackle. There is pike, largemouth bass, panfish and the occasional SM bass. Some really big dogfish too. There is a restaurant at jacks landing, and Alpena is only 30 minutes away. Austen Brothers brewery's food is better than the beer and the beer is great. Their homemade ketchup is awesome.
  10. Does anyone know when Minn kota is coming out with a brushless TM? Seems like they are falling behind the competition with new technologies.
  11. Thanks fore the clarification. Yes im looking at the LiFePO batteries, 36v 100ah to power the ghost TM.
  12. Test the liquid with ph strips and be done with it. Dont taste it, dont rub it on your balls or whatever other terrible ideas people suggest.
  13. If you are in weedy areas, drag the keitechs on the owner beast hooks for swimbaits. Using a regular jig head has higher hookup ratio, if you are in more open areas. I use a low gear ratio 5:1 to help slow my retrieve down.
  14. Hello everyone, there is alot of backgroung, and the question all the way at the bottom if you want to skip the wall of text. I've been wanting a new boat for awhile now, but I'm a little bit hesitant about taking on the boat payment for 12 years at some inflated interest rate they give for boat loans. So I'm comparing the pros and cons if just updating my boat to make it a little more capable. Currently i have a 1984 slyvan supper snapper, 16.5' deep V side console with a 25hp mariner. I have a gen1 terrova MK 12V 55lb thust without the i pilot link, which is now discontinued for legacy models. The trolling motor struggles in high wind. I have 2 group 31 deep cycles in parallel that powers the whole boat, so house batteries, starting and trolling motor off the 200 Ah. I would like to make the jump to a stronger trolling motor which requires completely redoing the battery setup. But I also have weight constraints, so adding additional batteries to achieve 36v is difficult because the boat is already near full weight capacity with the casting decks I added and all the gear and passengers. I've seen warnings from MK that the Li batteries have a higher voltage that doesn't work well with their brushed motors. So i will likely have to go brushless. The brushless motors are more efficient and have lower current draw, and the lithium batteries maintain a higher voltage longer these benefits should work together, I think i can use less battery capacity. In my head i should be able to double the power of my TM from 55lbs to 120lbs by using the lowrance ghost. And i should be a little lighter with lithium using to batteries 36v 100ah for trolling and a 12v 100Ah lithium ion for house and cranking. Does anyone run their ghost off a 36v lithium battery? How does it hold up to a long day if fishing?
  15. Not sure if i was clear, but i was suggesting to use that perch color keitech as a trailer on the spinnerbait, to give it a different look to everyone else's bait. If you like dragging worms, dragging keitech works great too if you can handle the slow pace.
  16. Funny story that happened to me last year that i need to setup a little background. I have a customer who is a walleye guy, and we alway exchange our stories. Ive gone fishing with him for bass and he holds his own so he is a pretty good fisherman. Ive hit a wall for fish in my neighborhood lakes, where I dont catch too many fish over 4.25lbs. So Ive been on the lookout for new lakes. Its a snowy winter weekend, all the lakes are frozen and Im binge watching Zona shows off the DVR and YouTube. Zona is in UP Michigan tearing them up. I also watched him tear it up with KVD on the zona live and i cant find these places anywhere on google maps. Monday morning rolls around and my customer called and I help him with what he needs and then we switch topics to fishing. I ask him if he has seen the Zona shows, i want to go fish these places, but i cant find this lake menderchuck or saskatoon bay anywhere. All I can see on the search is some Ajay guy fishes menderchuck. He is kinda quiet and doesn't say too much but "I dont know" and phone call ends. Later I get an email from him basically saying Zona doesn't like to dox his fishing spots because every ******* within 200 miles will come and ruin it. Made me feel a little stupid. The Ram truck beast of the week was my gullibility, because I took that hook line and sinker. So thanks Zona, youre costing me some fishing cred.
  17. I would not completely ignore the match the hatch rule. Ive had painfully slows days turn around in an instant just by changing color to the local baitfish. I live in SE Michigan too and I haven't seen alot if shad in the lakes outside of LSC waters. But there is always small yellow perch, and green sunfish and bluegill. You can never go wrong with matching those. A readily available lure is the strike king hack attack in bluegill, add a keitech fat impact 3.8" in perch color and you are off to a great start. Get some flukes and the spike it markers and mark them up to look more like perch. If you want an exotic lure the g2 shellcracker by blackdog tears them up post spawn if you fish like a squarebill and bounce it off cover and or waking it on the surface. Kent lake is highly pressured lake. I would try somewhere else. There is a hidden gem not too far, Maltby lake at the huron medows golf course has 5 lb LM in it. Everyone who is there is usually panfishing. I always rented a row boat there and brought a trolling motor, but you could bring your yak.
  18. North fork composite. Pick out the exact rod blank action you want and build it. Looks like you might want the Neo or Neo XH.
  19. The revenge baits website is gone, so these guys are done.
  20. I emailed them and never received a response
  21. Thats what i thought too, the colors should show up as not available. I emailed revenge to see what is going on.
  22. Has anyone noticed that the revenge spinnerbaits selection dropped to like no color options on tacklewarehouse? Dies anykbe know what is going on? I like their 5/0 hooks and the thin wire give off a nice thump. I'm just wondering if i need a new goto spinnerbait
  23. Second the jerkbait. Longer pauses, maybe even go down in size. XRAP XR6. I'very heard good things about blade baits on cold.
  24. . Someone told me that MLF was going to hit fletchers for the sudden death, but looks like they are going to long. They hit wyanns yesterday. So I took note on what they were using. Wild bill, we hit the water out in front of jacks alot. We stay at fletchers landing so we usually hit that area alot at the end of the night with buzzbaits and spinners. AJay, thanks for the tips. I ordered a couple swimjigs. Now I just have to wait 10 weeks til we go up
