Just an off the wall thought. Has anyone looked into whether crawdads get redder colored in colder water, maybe there's something there to see or maybe eliminate? Burr

Yeehaw!! Problem solved. The muffs weren't sealing tight enough so the pump didn't get a good enough water level or pressure or? Anyway squeezed wire for muffs in vise then tried again- wee-weed right off the start and all is looking good now. To the water tues and hopefully some greenie meanies, lol. Thanks for all help

Um, I think I said mine is 2 stroke and I dont know if that is setup the same on it. I didn't realize you were talking bout 4 stroke so hafta see if it makes a difference. Still appreciate any and all help. Thanks,burr

I am not sure if it is set up flush. What year and size motor did you have Elkins? I've not seen a hose hookup but then never actually looked for one. Will see tomorrow. Thanks?

I pulled lower and pump impeller is in good shape, flexible and rubbery-not hard or dried out- I guess maybe thermostat possible? Block paint looks new and therm gasket has same paint and looks like cover has never been removed before, paint seems to not be separated at seam. Before I open it up should I try boat in water at ramp and see what I get?

Hi all, got a problem with a 40 up yamaha 2 stroke. Got it started and can't get to pick up water on muffs. Line is clear frompeehole to motor - put new impeller in spring of 2018- worked when I parked it Last fall. Anybody got thoughts on why no water?

Well, i pulled plugs and they have the look of running a little rich-bit darker than they should be . That could be my goof as oil mixture might get a little heavy on oil, but not to extreme. Running plug that manual calls for - should i go 1 stage hotter plug?

All right it seems that the 91 oct. is the way to go. By the way i should say my outboard is 40 hp 2 stroke yamaha going on 21 yr old. This is on a 1998 g3 17ft aluminum bass boat. I guess i should tell you im kinda old school for a lot of you. Angus, I can remember setting those points and plugs you mentioned and know a little about the octane and compression relationship. I do not have much experience with 2 stroke outboards so thought i would get some feedback. Thanks for your 2 cents worth.Happy new year!

Hello all and hope you had good holidays. Ive read bout the problems with "corn gas" and have a catch 22 thing on my mind. I can run ethanol-free gas bur can only get 91 oct. Motor company (yamaha) recomends 87 oct. but it is 10%ethanol. I ran the 91 this last summer and seemed to run good on it. So which way would be best-91 and no corn or 87 and run a ethonal additive? Thoughts? Burr

Man, that sucks! We have the reverse prob. We are so dry that i havent mowed yard in 5 weeks and it still doesnt need it. Local lake here in mo. way down and fiah dying from heat and low o2 levels. How bout we take some of that rain you have too much of??

Is anyone in the sunshine state being caused any problems from this algae stuff that killing water critters? I saw on news that it is on west coast of state. Manatee , fish, eels and more dying from this stuff. Hope its not hitting anyones favorite places to fish, swim,etc.☹

It took me a year and a half but i got caught by the plug bug. Got to lake boat off trailer in water tied to dock parked truck git back to boat and sis says' why is the carpet wet? Luckily i could reach plug by leaning over transom got plug in bilge pump running and then excused myself to go change my shorts?? by the way i wanna t-shirt

Hello, hope everybody doing good and hooking big ones?. Anyway i remembered i have an old GTGrant wheel doing nothing that would look good if-1. I can pull original wheel off. Does it pull off like an auto wheel with a splined shaft? 2. If so than i woukd need to find an adapter to mount custom wheel. Has anybody done this and how if you could enlighten me i would be tickled "bass green"! Thanks for any ideas-oh yeah allmost forgot this is on a 1998 g3 pro 175 side console?

Im not aure on the other lines but i have the mach reel and mach crush reel and so far after 1/2 of last summer and this year so far have no issues with either and have landed many fish qwith both. I am becoming a lews fan but it helps having the store a couple miles up the road. Hope you enjoy yours as much as i do mine.?

I got the mach crush combo myself and at the time there was a raffle lews was holding -but ticket and get 20% off and five$ a ticket so i bought 2 for 10$. So my combo cost me 160 and then i got a free hoodie from lews with 50$ price tag. Since i live in spfd.mo. no shipping got it at store so if you do the nath i got my combo for 120$. That sounds better than 200$. Guess i lucked out with the timing of it all?

I caught a bass this morn and it has green back and sides butlower on sides there are also stripes. Is this a little cross breeding at work?

I have found that a rapala "skitter pop" works when a plopper or popper seem to be a little more than the bass want action wise. Color didnt make much difference as black/silver -blue-white and frog pattern all got hit this last week- may 20-27. Good luck and gotta love that topwater bite!?

Thats pretty wild! Kinda makes me think of the birds that get together in mid-air and drop until done. The way they twist and turn on the way down is what the fish act like.

Howdy all, i fish a 800-900 acre lake in sw Mo. and i have never noticed the strange actions lately. These carp are running up and down the shallow banks and splshing and thrashing like they are fighting or killing something. Anybody know if this is part of spawning behavior or?
