  1. it only makes the noise on the retrieve as far as i can hear, i think it is the spool bearing because the noise isnt a scratchy noise like one that a small burr on the spool would create. how do i oil these bearings, like where do i find them? i'm not reel savvy..
  2. So ive had this curado K for two years now with no problems, finally something arose.. a loud shuffling noise coming from the reel. So I took out the spool to check if the sound was inside the reel and it isn't. I checked around the spool and I managed to somehow create a near microscopic nick where the ring around the spool connects to the reels frame. and when i turn the handle that seems to be the point of contact that creates the shuffling sound. so where can I buy a replacement spool ,or is there any better ideas of where this sound could be coming from?
  3. yup, that's the deal i was lookin at and I think I've made my decision. thanks for the reply
  4. I use straight braid for topwaters
  5. holy cow, how long do you think that sale will last?
  6. I'm gonna get a frogging and flipping rod and am lookin' into the slx rods, probably the 7'2" heavy, do any of you have experience with that particular rod? or the slx rod lineup in general? I think for the reel I'm going with the new slx xt...
  7. lol I have a 703c and 702spinning
  8. I'm going to take the plunge into frogging and Flippin and need a rod, I'm looking at the dobyns fury line because I already have 2 and love them.. would the 735 be a good stick for those applications?
  9. There are bass down at south Lake in the Tahoe keys but that's a way's from where you will be...
  10. there is a micro series and a regular guide series I'm gonna get the regular one
  11. problem is I'm arachnophobic.
  12. odd, I'd expect the reel to be toast and the rod to be functional
  13. I think I'm gonna go with the 704, I have a 703 which isnt a true med hvy more like a med so I'm gonna go with the 704 to step up a power. Also I'm stepping up in the line to the Sierra series becuz I mainly want to use it for t-rigs and jigs and want more sensitivity..
  14. what would be the difference besides length from the 704 to the 734? is there any?
  15. I have the 703c so I might get the 734c instead of the 735
  16. my budget is around 300 dollars for both rod and reel, probably going with a 7foot heavy fast for frogging, and heavy cover fishing in general, probably wouldn't be Flipping often because I primarily fish from the bank, but a rod that I could frog with and also fish stuff in heavier cover would be ideal, I'm thinking of going with the Dobyns fury 735 because I have 2 furys already and love them. it's a mag heavy rod but the furys typically are a little bit lighter power than advertised..
  17. unfortunately those rods are just a little over budget for me..
  18. what would be a good rod that I could use for frogging, jigs, and fishing heavy cover? also, I want to keep the price within 150 bucks.
  19. So I want to get another rod and reel combo to add to my arseal but I'm not sure what the best option would be to cover the most techniques. right now I have a finesse spinning combo and an all around casting combo that can cover a lot of baits except for the heavy cover stuff. also I mostly fish the bank and I live in California if that helps. so with that said what should be the next rod I should get?
  20. hey, sorry for the late reply but I exchanged for another and this time it makes some noise but is not as noisy as the first one. as I spooled line on I couldn't hear the sound. yes it still makes some noise but not an unbearable amount. I think this reel might have a break in process because in the shop the lt lineup of spinners seemed like they were quieter reels, I think this is because they have been turned alot and maybe been broken in? I don't know.
  21. oh cool I already have that exact grease
  22. I just got the daiwa Fuego LT 2500 for finesse fishing for Christmas and after playing with it for a few days It sounds a bit noisy.. it feels smooth but makes what sounds like a scuffing noise every oscillaton of the spool going up and down. sh-sh-sh-sh is how I would describe the noise. could it be that the reel needs to be lubed? I'm afraid that if I lube It and it doesnt fix it if Tacklewarehouse wont let me exchange for another. i can't stand when something is wrong with my equipment because I'm super anal about my gear. any feedback will be greatly appreciated
  23. the water was less than a foot deep, Im not sure if it was some small sediment that got in the reel or if the grease broke down is what is making it less smooth. I'm going to fish with it tomorrow and then take it apart and clean and lube it.
  24. I think I'm just going to relube it because it is a little less smooth than before, I think the water made the lube lose its "lubiness" .
  25. Today while hunting I saw a creek that looked like it had some good fishing potential and as I was walking along the rocks, I slipped and fell and dunked my reel in the water... but only for a second. what should I do? it's a spinning reel and the water was crystal clear if that helps at all.
