    The meanmouth I have caught (3) were nothing special. The fight was about the same as other fish of comparable size.

    I have both the JDM 2500 and 1000. My preference is the 1000. I have owned every series and have never been disappointed. Earlier purchases were USDM as far as I know. I can't tell the difference.

    Equipment is fine, but I prefer MF spinning tackle. These are are few baits I would recommend: Rage Menace, Rage Structure Bug, Rage Baby Craw, GYCB Kreature, Kut-Tail, BPS Tinder Tube (#71) and Megabass Dark Sleeper.

    I don't fish a Rat-L-Trap anymore.

    They say only 10% of the water holds fish. On a new lake it's hard getting through the 90% of nothingness. Bass are easy to catch, it's finding them is the hard part. I like fishing with a guide.
