  1. I am right there with you, for some reason I have not had much luck with it. I will continue to try it though, especially for Smallies.
  2. have you guys ever tried using a Lizard T-Rig for top water? Basically a consistent/steady retrieve kind of popping it to keep it up in the water. I have had some luck, but need to use it more often to see how effective it really is.
  3. The most successful for me this year has been the Zoom Double Ringer Worm (Green Pumpkin) wacky rigged! I have never seen anyone use it and it kills it for me on Smallies and Largies! Also a popper has been working wonders, using the good ole Rebel Pop'R and the River2Sea Bubble Popper (Sooner)! My favorite baits though are jerkbaits, poppers, and any type of swimbait (glide, chatterbait, underspin etc.)
  4. Yes, i did not realize how much better it is casting with braid! I was amazed!
  5. yeah i love using Power Pro Braid and have caught fish finesse fishing with it and its RED line haha! this year i started putting a floro leader on but i dont know if its making that big a difference!! Might be with you there, might just go back to straight braid haha!
  6. Godline makes really good braid that is inexpensive! They make a black braid, which i really like, and its great for spinning set ups.
  7. you ever try to put a nail weight in Elaztech?! It basically spits it out, the material is so stretchy it doesnt allow anything to penetrate it, haha!
  8. Zoom Ring Worm in green pumpkin is killing it for me right now!
  9. Also if you need to go deep you can donkey rig it, where you have two flukes rigged up on different leader lengths, look it up, it looks really good!
  10. I recently went to Tungsten, once I use up my lead I will never go back. Its more sensitive, and more dense so the size of the weight is much smaller then lead even though they weigh the same! Its amazing stuff.
  11. are you using a bullet weight with your fluke? that would be good to get to the bottom as you can even drag the fluke. I would use a weighted hook if not weightless, works great for me when trying to get a little deeper. Weighted hooks still allow for great action when jerking the bait.
  12. Always use Tungsten! Its amazing! ?
  13. I live near the Snake River in Idaho and its known for good Smallmouth fishing, I dream that I can catch one half that size!
  14. SAME! They have to be one of the best looking jerk baits I have ever seen! Lets hope the fish think so!
  15. I finesse fish like 75% of the time. I love finesse and power fishing both but I seem to do more finesse. 10 pound fluoro for weightless worms/drop shot/ned rig/texas rig/jerk bait/top water. I love it all though! ordered a new baitcaster, so I will probably not finesse fish as much here soon but will always have the spinning rod on hand!
