  1. Surprised nobody has asked this question, as both rods are very similar. Both have the same guides and have x wrap and are in a similar price range. For those who own them, which do you like/ prefer for bottom contact? The only thing I dont like about the cronos is that they are all extra fast
  2. Yeah, I was looking into an avid x but the micro guides are a no go for me, because I’ll probably use a leader with this rod. I’ll probably get the 72MH then, thanks for the info its very useful! I know the rod has a fast action, but how soft is the tip, like how easy is it to bend the part that’s supposed to bend? I like that the rods have a strong backbone but I don’t want to buy a broom stick lol. Also, do you notice a difference with the High-Power X blank? Does it really help with casting and hooksets? Thanks! Do you like the rod though? I don’t mind if it’s a bit heavy.
  3. I’d love to get an expride they seem amazing, but unfortunately out of my price range and they are always on back order haha Thanks, what model do you have?
  4. I was worried about the warranty at first, but both warranties only cover things that are manufacturing defects, so I feel the one year zodias warranty is sufficient. Thanks for the info! What is the difference between the 610 and the 72? I throw a lot of light texas rigs like 1/4 ounce + plastic, would the rods be able to cast it a decent distance? Also, how soft are the rods? Do they have a softer tip or a stiffer tip? Thanks again so much! Thank you! Would a 1/4 ounce weight plus a heavier plastic like a rage bug or 5” senko be enough wait to load the rod back? I don’t have to be able to bomb cast a 1/4 ounce t rig but at least cast an OK distance. Thanks! It seems like you can’t go wrong with an avid! This is going to be a tough decision haha
  5. I’ve been looking to get a new worm and jig rod (with maybe the occasional chatterbait or topwater) and I’ve narrowed it down to either the 6’10”MH Zodias or 72MH Zodias or a 7MH Avid. They honestly both seem like very good rods, and I like the makeup of the Zodias a little bit more than the Avid. However, I also like the Avids warranty and the fact that it’s made in the US as well. The lack of hookeeper on the Zodias does not bother me. For those of you who own the rods, what are they like? Are they too stiff to throw 1/4 ounce t rigs? Are they sensitive? Are they versitile or pretty technique specific? If anyone owns both, which do you prefer? Any and all imput is appreciated! Thanks!
  6. dude i just dont like mono, ive fished both mono and braid and i just dont like mono. ig im not allowed to have an opinion lol not sure what u mean
  7. i use the double uni knot on my spinning outfit and it works great. i havent used a leader on my baitcaster for years so i can probably tie the knot fine now
  8. i like to use leaders on my spinning setup, but i have bad memories of using leaders on my baitcasting and i dont trust them lol. what connection knot do u use, might b time to try the leaders again
  9. I bank fish for the most part and travel light, a spinning rod and a baitcaster. I’ve been running straight braid on my baitcaster and I’ve liked it much more than mono. I just wonder sometimes if when the water is clear-stained if the fish can see the line and it deters bites. I throw everything on this rod, t rig, jig, chatter and spinnerbait, topwater, the occasionaly crank, etc. Do you guys recommend any other lines such as a copolymer line? Would a copolymer line be sensitive like braid but still less visible? would using a sharpie to blacken my moss green braid do anything? also, would copoly work in heavy cover (which i fish rarely but with the same rod) any suggestions are appreciated, thanks! edit: id generally prefer not to use a leader but if thats just the best option, i might. i also dont want to use straight mono.
  10. thanks for telling me, i’ll have to check it out
  11. thanks yall
  12. Update: I cleaned off all the lures in a vinegar so there was no rust. Only some of the lures that had almost no rust to begin with ended up making the cut. I did a strength test by pulling on them and squeezing them, and all the ones that bent or broke im replacing. The ones that really didnt have much rust that are strong aren’t going to be replaced.
  13. ok thanks guys. i have 3 lures with no rust at all and a bunch with just a tiny bit, so ill probably replace all the ones with visible rust
  14. thanks for the reply guys. some of the high quality hooks, u cant even see rust unless u look really close and its just a tiny bit. you cant even see it in a photo. would yall reckon i still have to replace those?
  15. (TLDR at bottom) So i was fishing for a long time in cold weather, and it was slightly drizzling. I had kept one of my tackle boxes open almost the whole ordeal which was about 5 hours. i was cold and in a hurry to get out, i closed my tackle, put it in my bag, and didnt touch for a week or two. I went fishing and saw just rust water covering the bottom of that tackle box and all the lures and hooks were rusty. i let it sun dry and then later came home, and cleaned them fairly thoroughly with some stainless steel wipes, rinsed them off then dried them. They are still kinda rusty but it kinda depended on the lure, like ny $15 lucky craft jerkbait just has a tiny bit of rust while some others are still pretty bad and i had a hook break cleaning them. so my question is, what shoud i do? should i replace the trebles on all of them or just the bad ones(this is $100 ish worth of treble hook lures). I’ve heard to soak the stuff in vinegar, for things like the expensive jerkbait would i have to replace the trebles bc they are mostly good? any suggestions appreciated. TLDR: I left my tackle in the rain, let it sit for weeks, and now its all rusty, what should i do?
