  1. Does anyone here take the split rings off and just connect with a snap? Not a swivel-snap, just the clasp.
  2. You answered pretty much all of my questions, thank you though!

  4. Thank you.
  5. Would it be legal to buy the jig retail, then create my own mold out of some other material without having to pay someone machine-cut a block of metal or buy the expensive mold?
  6. Does anyone know where I can find a mold similar to the strike king cobra-style heads on the Denny Brauer structure jigs? I’d like to start making my own jigs with better hooks, but can’t find this head design. The hooks that come on the jigs are super sharp Owners and I’ve noticed on more than a few fish I catch that the hook cuts them along the roof of their mouth before it gets a grip and sinks into them. Wondering if it effects my hookup ratio also, so I’d rather just build my own with different hooks than switch jig types.
  7. I haven’t gotten big into swimjigs yet. I probably just don’t throw them enough, not a confidence bait for me. I haven’t used the Cutter because I’ve always had huge success with Rapala shadow raps.
  8. Anybody have some experience with these? I’m a big Berkley fan and enjoy using their products but as I’m starting to build my crankbait arsenal I’m wondering if I should board the hype train and go with Strike King or 6th sense. I’ve used the Sqaurebull and Warpig with some good results, so I’m super tempted to stock up on their other hardbaits. Still debating though.
  9. I keep my cranking setup super simple. 12lb flouro, 7’ medium action Abu Garcia rod, and a 6:4.1 Abu reel. Covers all my bases, lipless or lipped. I’ve never thrown deep divers and I’ve only thrown cranks going deeper than 6’ one or two days, but I’ve never had issues. I will switch to a 7’ medium-heavy with 30lb braid if I’m fishing cover though.
  10. None, but I travel to the Gulf 3-4 times a year.
  11. I’ve used the Berkely Squarebills and really like them, haven’t gotten a chance to use anything that runs much deeer though. I’ll have to get some Dredgers, have you used any of the other Berkely cranks?
  12. I’m debating on getting the Deeper Pro+ for my kayak but do have aspirations one day of fishing saltwater and buying a boat. It’s advertised as working in saltwater also, but I’m wondering if I should go ahead and save longer to buy a Hummingbird or Lowrance. The initial thing that turned me on to the Deeper was I can use it from the bank, use it with my phone, and I don’t have to have a battery and wires in my kayak for it to work. Thoughts or suggestions? Anyone that has used it and recommends or condemns it?
  13. Thanks for the feedback everyone! Helps a lot. Any tips on deep cranking? Never gone deeper than 8’ here in MS. Trying to broaden my fishing though.
  14. @WRB neither are Owner, both are Trokar. I’ve heard the top are better for larger fish and fishing structures.
  15. @WRBthese are the two I’m asking about...the top one is the EWG
