  1. Right now it's the Zoom Original Trick Worm in Green Pumpkin and Strike King Lil Mr. Money Spinnerbait in Firetiger. They're the deal in the places I fish.
  2. I have 9 setups, but I primarily use 3 and I'm considering selling the rest myself because, honestly, they collect dust. I have found that there isn't much I can't do with a MH/F and a M/F baitcasting setup, and a M/F spinning setup. Braid on the MH baitcasting and spinning setups, mono on the M baitcasting setup, and attach the appropriate leader line for whatever or wherever I'm fishing. Pretty much covers everything. As far as lures, I've also discovered that I don't use the majority of my stuff. And despite the plethora of different colors of soft plastics, it always comes down to Green Pumpkin or black. A few plastic Plano storage containers shoved in a backpack and I have everything I truly fish right there. So I'm with you and understand. I really need to sell the rest of it. I'm not a professional, I don't make money doing this, I have certain things I just like to do and I stick to it, and I catch a bunch of fish. It's simple. I think we get caught up in hypothetical scenarios, colors, and needing the newest this or that.
  3. On the water: Parents letting their kids throw rocks in the vicinity of where I'm fishing. The lack of awareness is astounding. Fishing videos: "Do you guys see that, right over there? You see that bass?" No, Scott, we can't - because you've got polarized sunglasses on and we don't. In general: It's a fishing rod, not a fishing pole. Other: It's a poe-tay-toe, not a puh-tay-tuh.
  4. Positive. The feeling is always so good. Specially when you successfully set the hook after the tapping.
  5. Open a free ImageShack account. Upload the photos from your phone to your account. Post the photos on here via the url. Then there's no issue with uploading or a limit on the size of the photo.
  6. This is what I'm dealing with. The pictures do not do the weeds justice. They are thick and have grown to the top of the water. What I have found is best is weightless plastics dragged and dropped in holes.
  7. Topwater at night is so much fun. Make sure your heart is healthy. It's different being able to see AND hear the blowup. At night you never know until you suddenly hear the blowup. You should be fine fishing them at your temps.
  8. A pond I fish is virtually one solid mat of weeds. Sometimes to get a fish in, I have to stop reeling and take hold of the rod with both hands and back up as I pull. It's so thick that the bass gives up fighting and reeling just isn't enough. Sometimes when I finally get them in, the bass is lifeless. No fight, no wiggle, and just covered in weeds, with their mouth often packed full of it too. After cleaning them off and taking the weeds out of their mouth, I nurse them back to life in the water and they swim off apparently fine. However I am wondering if this is too stressful and if I could be killing some of these fish? I haven't noticed any belly up bass, but then again, the weeds would do a go job making that hard to see to begin with.
  9. Found a pic of his bass. Gotta be at least 6.
  10. There's a serious flaw in them, then, because you can't tell me other shipments aren't abused. I looked at other rods and only these were bowed, every one of them the same way either left or right. Also, if it was the way they were shipped, why are some bowed one way and the others the other way? They are all the same either left or right. If it's the way they were shipped, pathetic rods to bow when even the cheap 15-20 dollar rods aren't.
  11. Bass are silly. I get far, far fewer bites on a worm dragging it. Hopping or even swimming them is the deal. And why? Worms don't do that lol. Whatever works, and hopping works
  12. Use smaller diameter backing, maybe
  13. I went and checked out these Vengeance rods at the store and each and every one of them has this bow to the left or the right. I don't know if it was a bad shipment or just the way they are.
  14. That fixes nothing. You still don't know when nature will call again, and you should be hydrating. If it's busy, I wouldn't risk being caught. Too many stupid laws that could ruin your life for simply doing a very human thing. Hold it. If it's bad, pack up and head to a close bathroom.
  15. My thoughts exactly. That's a whole new level of grammar nazism.
  16. Thing is, I can say with 100 percent certainty that I did not buy it like this. I examine rods thoroughly before purchasing, and I check for abnormalities frequently.
  17. Mostly worried about casting accuracy. My other hobby is billiards, and if you have a bent cue, you're in trouble. Probably a false equivalency on my part, eh?
  18. Took me way too long to get it.
  19. Approximately 6 inches below the tip of one of my spinning rods there is a slight bend. Just noticed earlier. No idea how it happened as I'm easy on my gear and store them properly. Is there anything I can do about it? Abu Garcia Vengeance rod.
  20. I've seen so many videos of bass eating squirrels, mice, rats, snakes, etc. A bass doesn't have the jaw pressure to kill these things before going down the throat, do they? And they don't have the teeth to chew them up. So my question is, do these critters bite and claw the inside of the bass until they're dead?
  21. Somehow a 4 inch wacky Senko managed to catch me over 20 fish. I use zip ties. Never had a Senko last that long. I could probably still use it, but I retired it for the memories. Sometimes the norm is broken.
  22. I don't really double set, but I do dig it in more, if that makes sense. Not a true hookset after the initial, but a hard tug.
  23. Beer is magic. I won't be catching anything, so I open a beer. Then it never fails that I start catching them, and the beer sits there and goes to waste because I'm not stopping just to drink. Kinda like stopping to take a leak with your line in the water, and THEN they decide it's a good time to bite.
