  • About Me
I've been fishing since I was a kid. You always learn something new. I love bouncing ideas off fellow anglers, you truly learn something new in that regard. One angler might rig his bait a certain way and you might have been stuck in your ways until you tried it one morning and exceeded your expectations. There's no right or wrong in fishing. My advice, always have an open mind and be willing to learn. I have learned so much from my peers and even from talking/watching Pro fishermen like KVD, Jordan Lee to name a couple.

Whether its patience, attitude or rigging your rods. You will be a better angler.

  1. Thank you. Now I will be more active that I have my sign in information.
  2. Ya I lost my password. Found all my info. Anyhow, I fish out of a Hobie Pro Angler at Cottonwood cove. I caught my biggest smallie there, 5lb 2oz. The smallmouth are getting bigger. An angler caught a 7.38 in a tournament. Any kayak anglers? Tom, What color Roboworm? I use smoke,Aarons magic and oxblood. Those are my go to colors. The Ned rig is killer in 20-25ft rocky bottom points.
  3. Look up on "***" YouTube channel. "Why you should use braid for crankbaits" Featuring Elite Series Pro David Fritz. Type the title in the search on YouTube. I use braid for crankbaits, when you're fishing deep rocky lakes, its truly helpful. I use a translucent braid and fish clear water with it.
  4. I use #40 Braid on my inshore spinning reel size 30. I also use braid for crankbait fishing around rocks, never have to worry about losing a $20 lure.
  5. IndianaFinesse said it best. I also like to use Ghost colored lipless/crankbaits in cold water for smallies. I always do well with that color.
  6. Have you ever tried lucky craft LV500 in Ghost?
  7. achieve greatness. Mille lacs is about the same clarity. I'll also throw VMC moon eye jig 1/8 with Berkley Gulp 4" Minnow and that does very well.
  8. Rapala Xrap 10 in hothead and Parrot. GYCB 4" Shad shape worm in shad color demeki or drop shot. Black maribou hairjigs, or a Ned rig with green pumpkin.
  9. I use Spiderwire #40lb Translucent Stealth Braid on a Quantum Smoke 30 & 40 sz spinning reel. You go left, I go right. I always do things differently for the most part and have found a lot of success. I do not use a leader . I like crank bait fishing with braid.
  10. For smallmouth yes. Havasu has bigger largemouth and more of a quantity bite there. About 12yrs ago that's all I'd catch at cottonwood was largemouth. Now the smallmouth population is insane! They can be hard to catch from shore as winter time the water levels drop. I can't wait to get my boat fixed and fish there. Thanks guys for welcoming me, I love Bass Resource!! Roboworm Aarons magic works great as well along with Rapala X rap 8 in clown, and the other two bright colors offered. The saltwater orange and chartruese xrap is killer!
  11. The brighter colored Xrap 8 is killer for ultra clear water smallmouth! They go crazy for them.
  12. I fish here quite often. Is there anyone in the group that fishes here??
