  1. I am about to purchase a new reel for topwater frogs but im torn on which gear ratio. I know you want a high gear ratio but im not sure if 7.5:1 or 8.3:1. I wanted to get some opinions if 8.3:1 may be too fast or if it has worked good for anyone. Thanks
  2. I am searching for a new reel and I have got it down to the reel I think is best and I wanted some opinion from people who may have used this reel or have suggestions for an even better reel. The reel im looking at is the Lews Custom Pro SLP. This seems to be on overall great reel and I am a fan of my other Lews reels that I have. My next choich would be the Lews HyperMag SLP if anyone would suggest this over the custom? Thanks for everyones input.
  3. I recently got a 2017 bass tracker 175 which comes with the basic Lowrance hook 4x mounted on the dash area. Im looking to replace it more than likely with the Lowrance hook2 7x but im not sure how to go about mounting it. Anybody have a similar units mounted on their boat in that spot? Or any suggestions on how I could mount it in the same spot as the unit thats on there now? Thanks!
  4. What baits are working for you guys right now? Fished in Lake Harris and Little lake Harris along with the Minneola chain most recently and cant seem to get the fish to bite much. Let me know if you guys have found where bass are biting or what they might be biting!
  5. You cant ever really go wrong with a senko in ponds. Maybe try experimenting using it with and without a weight. It doesnt seem like much but the rate of fall and the way it moves without a weight is a huge difference. Bass are more slow moving when the water temps are low so a bait that is falling slow will be more likely to get hit.
  6. You are having a rough day and cant catch a single bass. What is your go to that will get them to bite? talking late fall/ early winter in florida

  8. Hopefully you find yourself coming to Florida. There are endless opportunities no matter where in the state you decide to fish. If i had to suggest a somewhat hidden gold mind it would be lake harris and little lake harris. Although it is popular to those who live around here outsiders dont seem to think much of it. Its great lake to fish and experiment on. Good luck
  9. Anybody stayed at a good hotel near Lake Okeechobee with their boat where there was good security? If so what hotel and where? Thanks

  12. Hello, I recently bought my first bass boat and I am new to the world of fishing off a bass boat. I have always just had a kayak so the places i could fish were limited. Now that I have a boat I want to make a trip to Lake Okeechobee. Im planning on making it about a 4 day trip and staying at a near by hotel. The only thing im worried about is leaving my boat at the hotel over night where i would be in my room and not able to watch the boat. Even if i did have a 1st floor room with a window next to the boat that wont help any when i am sleeping. Do you guys have any advice? I can of course lock my storage but im worried about my fish finders, trolling motors, or even someone just trying to vandalize the boat. Thanks
