  1. Does the banjo minnow count ? Weightless fluke for me. Has caught a ton for me, maybe need to go back to it.
  2. Moving baits it’s not important. contact baits, absolutely important. However, I remember in college we were playing golf in a group of 3 and a older gentlemen joined us. He had clubs from the 80’s and proceeded to whip all of us. To me skill and experience are much more important. I’m a Kistler guy. Is there a difference between the Magnesium 2 and the Z-Bone? ABSOLUTELY, but I believe me catching more and more fish over the last several years has more to do with me picking up tips from friends, reading articles and watching videos with info from pros.
  3. You can find an OG Steez for 200-250, same for an SV103. Intrigued by the new Tatula, will wait for more people to review it. also Zillion HLC is stupid sick with casting distance
  4. I always have a spinning set up with me. I’m primarily stuck on the bank. So moving around means I usually on take 2 or 3 set up with me. What I take varies depending if I’m going to a pond / lake or a creek. I’ll just list my 3 main combos and the applications. Shimano Stradic w/ 7’ Helium 3 medium XFast - flukes, wacky rigs, ned rig, drop shot, senkos 6.3:1 Daiwa Zillion (the OG version) w/ a 6’11” Kistler KLX reel and feel MH - Teckel Frog, whopper plopper, buzz baits, chatterbaits, lipless cranks, med depth cranks 7.9:1 Daiwa SV 103 w / 7’ Helium 3 Heavy X fast - (this one is rated from 3/8 - 1 1/2) jigs, t rigs, and frogging I have four other setups but these three are what I usually carry
  5. Agree with Roadwarrior, Leader, Sunline is perfectly fine. Spooling up with straight flouro, tatsu is the best one out there.
  6. Yes they do, from the article it looks like that’s the next big jump in Daiwa. Having the micro modules in all their low profile reels as well
  7. http://tackletour.com/reviewdaiwa18ryoga.html Looks awesome
  8. I’m a Daiwa guy and the OG Zillion platform is my favorite line up still. Having said that I do have a Steez SV TW and you can tell a difference in the newer tech. But you can take an 103 SV and you get the best of both worlds with the exception of a lighter reel. One of my fishing buddies is hardcore Shimano and it’ll be a cold day in hell before he quits using his Bantam Chronarchs lol.
  9. What's the difference? Pros and cons? Thanks in advance
  10. I bought 3 pairs of Columbia pants, and they're awesome!
  11. No experience with the new Tat 150, but from what I hear, it essentially replaced the Tat HD, so from my understanding, it should fit your needs.
  12. KLX Frog and Creature for the Rod OG Zillion 7:1 You’ll be money man
  13. Thanks John, With it being moderate fast, is it capable of being punching / heavy T-rig rod as well?
  14. I know the lure rating states 3/8 - 4 oz, but is this rod really that versatile? I mean with that rating I’m thinking it could do everything from punching, to small swimbaits, to crankbaits. Does anyone have experience with this rod?
  15. I have a Steez 100 HL and a Steez 103 HLA, both of which are two of my favorite reels. I'm thinking of switching out the stock spools with a Hedgehog Works SLP 105 SV spools. What kind of difference would I see if I made the switch. Anyone here do something similar? And if so how did you like the change?
  16. I would say overall no. I have seen plenty of guys win our local tournaments without "high end gear". Experience and knowledge do a long way. Now, does fishing with my steez and NRX make it more enjoyable, absolutely. I would say I feel more bites with my NRX or Z bone than I do with my other rods, and I RARELY have backlashes with my steez or SV 103's, so that definitely helps. But in regards to technique, presentation, lure selection depending on conditions, etc. high end gear doesn't do squat.
  17. Any one any info leak out yet on the new Z-bones? Been waiting a while for them and am excited to hear any reviews or sneak peaks out there
  18. Sniper is solid Tatsu has been my go to
  19. I’ve actually found that the Kistler KLX MH worked out really well for me when throwing ploppers.
  20. I don’t know man, every time I grab a new Daiwa, I see quality, but I’m not blown away like I was with the original Zillions
  21. The new Zillions are nice, but the old school Zillions are just amazing. Am I the only one that thinks the older models are better?
  22. Would my old school Zillion 100 PLA It holds 125 yards of 14 lb test (.35 mm) Thinking 65 lb braid with mono leader should do the trick. Was able to find a Dobyns Fury 806 on a good deal. Hopefully that holds up until I get a true swimbait reel. Thanks for all the insight everyone. Picked up 5 - River2Sea S Wavers 2 - Jackall Gantarels 4 - Hudd 68 special 1 - MS slammer thought about getting a reel but my funds are diminished after buying the baits. thanks again everyone
  23. What gear ratio for reels should I be looking at?
  24. So mono is the go to on swimbaits?
