  1. I know this is a dead thread but you guys are overthinking it. The strange Gantarel colors like wounded shiner are just as productive and if you burn or twitch it, it’s more like a jerkbait thing, they don’t inspect it, they just crush it. Fishing it finesse during the spawn, you may want to get a realistic color and action but the Gantarels are produce best as a power presentation. It’s how strangely and erratically that the lure behaves that draws them in. Think of it as a giant jerkbait. Just wanted to add this for anyone googling or whatever and then browsing the thread to see. thanks!
  2. I fish and have both left and right handed K's for different applications. Thanks for the tip with the burr, I need to check that out.
  3. Yeah... It's not that simple though (about making sure it's locked.) When it happened at first I thought I was inadvertently hitting the open switch because I grip my reel over the top of the side plate with my thumb sometimes and the underside with my other fingers... But I determined I wasnt. Plus it makes this weird sound like a graphite on graphite or slate on slate kind of hiss or scrrrrtchhhh (I know so succinct right?), when it happens and immediately after the side plate pops. I'll try releasing the tension on the spool, I keep the breaks pretty high and tension high as well to avoid any downtime from backslashes since I bank fish a lot and don't need a ton of distance usually.
  4. I had a problem with a Curado I that eventually ruined the reel in less than a year of owning it being fished semi-heavy (a few hundred casts per week). The side plate would pop off during casting more and more frequently as I used it. At first I just figured it was a defect with the reel, however I have upgraded to the Curado K and it has happened now at least once with both K's I own. I googled it and got no real results, I am convinced I may be doing something wrong during the cast. Anyone else have anything similar happen or any advice? Thanks!
  5. I will be heading to the lake toho area of Orlando Florida from the 12th to the 15th of March. I am looking for an affordable guide (less than the standard $275 for 4 hours kind of junk online). Im laid back and a friendly guy east to get along with. I am also looking to buy a rod for Lake Toho. I have several 7'0 MH Rods so im not looking for one if those. Outside of those specs if anyone could have and use just ONE rod and reel for Lake Toho what would it be? Suggestions needed! Thanks guys!
