  1. There is only 3 or 4 lakes that you can shore fish from, if memory serves me correct. I fish from a kayak, so I don't know how good shore fishing for bass is. Some lakes have so much structure it takes awhile to figure out where the best areas are. Have had terrible days there and some of the best days there. The water can get really green with all this heat, being phosphate pits. Can't go wrong with black and blue or junebug. I like to drag soft plastics like Crypt for best results.
  2. I would stick to that 8-14 ft range this time of year. You found one, so there is probably more around that range. What I would do, 1/4 oz or 3/8oz weight, t-rig with a watermelon green, junebug, or green pumpkin speed worm, find the inside edge (where the grass isn't topped out) and throw a long that edge. If you have a point that the grass grows out further than the rest, that is even better, you have a "point". Cast it out and stroke it through the grass back to you. If that isn't working back off into deeper water, your lure with tell you when the grass starts to thin out underwater. Do the same thing pump it back or it thin enough drag it back. You will probably hit it when it falls back down through the grass after you stroke the worm. I have had success on clear Florida lakes doing exactly this. Best of luck!
  3. Junebug, black with blue flake, for worms or stickbaits. I like white for flukes
  4. I bought my Lure 13.5 from them. Estes was the delivery company. The boat did show up with a gash on the bottom, most likely from a fork lift. I looked it over very throughly, and it the gash did not create an issue with the boat. I didn't get a lot of notice regarding the deliverly, kinda just called and said we are on our way. You want to make sure to inspect it the best you can, so if there is an issue, do not sign for it and call ACK. The driver wasn't rushing me while I inspected but I also made it clear that I was going to check the boat out.
  5. I have a Lure 13.5, while it doesn't track that great and is on the heavy, it is a stable platform and comfortable. If you can get with boat and the overdrive for 1500 you are way ahead of the game, considering those separate would put you over 2 grand.
  6. My first kayak was a 10', that I used Yakima foam blocks on top of my old Acura RSX (2 door coupe). It was cheap and it worked. Just open the doors to strap it down.
  7. Lure 13.5, super stable for all the flippin' we do here in FL.
  8. I use the Malone kayak carrier/dolly. The wheels come off and it folds up. It has been great and it will roll on multiple surfaces.
  9. Tried and true black and blue stick bait (senko) and 1/4 tungsten weight 3/0 is good. Hop it, drag it, dead stick it, around cover or if you can find structure. Search bait, 1/2 oz lipless crank.
  10. When I lived in NJ, Assunpink WMA was always a good spot.
  11. Tenoroc was on fuego last weekend. They have a board in the check-in office, telling you lakes that are doing well. Good to check there first. Also which lake depends on your mode of transport, boat (need ramp) or kayak/small jon? There are a few hand launch only lakes. As for lure selection, water is usually pretty stained, so dark colors seem to produce, junebug or black and blue are my go to colors. I have tried many different lures, but always go back to texas rigged soft plastic, just plain works. 1/4 or 3/8 tungsten weight. 20lb straight braid. Unreclaimed pits, I work the shore line brush, pitch it around, in, or through, and work it back. Most have a steep bank so you are still fishing in 8-15 ft of water, within a few yards of shore. I haven't mastered offshore structure out there, there is so much of it. Depth finder will be your best friend Good luck, wish I could go this weekend!
