  1. Shimano caenan I had the older version and it was a great reel. The new one is even better. I have a casitas it's in your price range and i love the way that reel cast I recommend the casitas or caenan to get started on baitcasters. There is going to be many opinions on this thread, go shimano brother you won't regret it.
  2. I have the blackout mf 7 its a great rod for it being so cheap now it's strong and has nice sensitivity. I still use it often I like it Ive beaten this rod up pretty good over the past year and it still looks new.
  3. Great stuff Glenn! Thumbs up.
  4. Chatter bait slow retrieval in ponds this time of year can be very productive, also a shad rap, reel fast stop reel fast stop kinda work it like a jerk bait this is great in cold water ponds.
  5. Its probably worth it if you can afford it. I'll stick to cheap polorized lenses for now I always lose mine anyway.
  6. Luuuucyyy!!! You have some esplainin to do!
  7. thanks brothers
  8. How long should I make the leader?
  9. I want to start using braid to floro leader on my spinning rods but don't know what line to start off with should I go power pro or something cheap to learn how to use braid ? I was also wondering how long should my leader be? Ill be using it for weightless soft plastics ?
  10. Power bait makes a good double tail grub.
  11. Nice video I enjoy it.
  12. I just got the nasci and for 100 bucks there is no smoother and better built reel at that price point IMO, now the reel is a bit heavy not that significant but since reels have gotten so much lighter you can feel those extra couple of ounces that is the only issue, if you think that is an issue,I don't mind it. 8.8 ounces is not heavy compared to what reels weighed just a few years ago.
  13. I ultimately ended up sticking to st croix it's hard to change I was debating getting the seirra dobyns spinning 69 but the extra money made me change my mind, see what happens.
  14. Yeah I checked out the crucial but I feel they might be updating it soon so that's why I passed on it.
  15. Thank you guys so much for your input I really appreciate it , i wanted to try something new but I've made my decision it will be another st croix mojo SClll I will be posting as soon as it gets here and really like the fact that I have this site to go to and post these problems that others might seem irelivent. I appreciate all you guys here at bassresource.com I guess nothing is going to beat it at my price point?
  16. Where else would I look?
  17. I am interested in the ethos because I've never used one and there seems to be quite the fallowing for them I'm super picky man I want 6'8 they don't have em.
  18. I agree with you on that you can use just about anything for wacky rigging I'm currently using a 6'8 ghost casting. I have a decent arsenal mostly in 7 foot range rods however this rod I want it for the bank and will use it for a few different things besides wackyrigging I need to get into tight spots under trees and this is just the exact lenth I want 6'8-6'9 max I hear alot about different brands and want to try something different, Im interested in hearing different opinion.
  19. I have one and I like it I just want something different there's a lot of brands out there I want to try something new.
  20. I'm looking for a wacky rod specifically 6'8 mxf preferred black purple or whatever just no red I don't like red ,lots of brands out there but not with theses specs not interested in a mojo budget is 140$ any help guys?
  21. These are the ones that I was talking about .
  22. I use the #3 black fury I got a couple of different colors I'll post pics in the morning but I haven't thrown them in quite some time now but I used to love them I really use to love the regular gold and red ones I need to go back to the basics maybe?
  23. Yes you can. You can swim any jig. Football jigs swim better in rocky situations and an arky style can swim threw grass.
